Cleethorpes Calling! 🩰

Post Number 1980

Hello, darlings!

It's Emma here, your resident tutu-loving, pink-obsessed ballet enthusiast, writing to you from the glorious seaside town of Cleethorpes! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

I know, I know, it might seem a little... unconventional to head to the seaside in December. But I've got to tell you, there's something undeniably magical about bracing sea air and salty breezes even in the colder months. Plus, there's just something about Cleethorpes that makes me feel like I'm on holiday, even if it's just a quick weekend trip.

Speaking of which, I did say 'weekend trip' - I didn't actually mention how I got here. Let's just say I was feeling adventurous and chose to travel by... horse! 🐎 Don't worry, darling, it wasn't some crazy, off-the-cuff decision - I found a lovely horse-drawn carriage service offering trips to Cleethorpes. And let me tell you, it was an absolute dream. The sound of hooves clicking on the pavement, the wind whipping through my hair, and the majestic gait of the horses - pure enchantment! It felt like I'd stepped right into a fairytale, and frankly, that's how I like my life! πŸ’«

So, here I am in Cleethorpes, feeling refreshed and ready for a day of exploring. Today's tutu, ladies, is a vibrant, cherry-red number that I think perfectly encapsulates the festive spirit of the season. πŸ’ I love the way it stands out against the grey December sky and complements the soft pink blush on my cheeks (thanks to the bracing wind!). 🌬️

Now, about the festivities...

Firstly, the town is absolutely adorned in Christmas lights! ✨ It's so beautiful! The seafront is shimmering with fairy lights, there's a giant Christmas tree, and the streets are lined with illuminated decorations. Every corner of Cleethorpes is overflowing with festive cheer. And as someone who finds every excuse to be festive (let's be real, a red tutu counts!), I am utterly in my element! πŸ˜„

But what's a seaside trip without a visit to the beach? 🌊 I must admit, a December beach trip is definitely a new experience for me! Even though it's chilly, I found myself walking along the promenade, the sound of crashing waves and seagulls screeching a perfect soundtrack to the invigorating wind. The air is so clear and crisp, it's enough to clear your head and remind you of all the wonders the world has to offer.

I might have had a very special encounter as well... as I was walking by the pier, I saw a seal! 🦭 I know, right?! He was just basking in the sun, seemingly unfazed by the chilly weather. The whole scene was a bit surreal. I stood there, enthralled, taking it all in. The wild beauty of the natural world and the charm of this little coastal town. I'm in love!

Then I had to make sure my visit to Cleethorpes was a proper one - fish and chips, of course! 🐟

You're never truly in England unless you've enjoyed the perfect combination of batter and potato - crispy, golden on the outside, and fluffy and perfectly seasoned within. Oh, and it doesn't hurt to be served in a pink paper bag, either! πŸ˜‰

Cleethorpes, for me, has all the elements of a perfect day.

Of course, the evening calls for more fun.

I'm planning to watch a show at the Cleethorpes Pier. It's a little tribute act, but with the magical atmosphere, twinkling lights and that sea air, I am absolutely sure it will be divine.

Oh, and let's not forget about my favourite hobby... ballet, darling! 🩰

While I'm in Cleethorpes, I'm taking advantage of the town's charming seaside energy and indulging in a little bit of ballet by the sea! It's incredible how the simple movement of our bodies and the beautiful grace of ballet can truly enrich your spirit, especially when surrounded by nature's beauty!

I might be in my 20s and I'm a 'real' adult now (in theory anyway!), but somehow I always get carried away by the magic of this wonderful world, by the simple pleasure of the 'pink tutu', by the elegance of a perfectly executed pliΓ© and the magic of every journey, whether it's to the seaside, to the theatre, or simply down the street!

And my hope is, that you too will be inspired. Inspired to break free from the confines of everyday life and to find beauty in the ordinary. Embrace your inner ballet dancer! Embrace a touch of pink! And, darling, always wear your tutu proudly. After all, we can all learn a thing or two from the graceful world of ballet, right?

It's the small joys, the unexpected discoveries, and the moments of genuine happiness that make life so special, darling. And so, as the evening shadows fall upon Cleethorpes, I can't help but feel incredibly grateful for the chance to explore, discover, and embrace life's simple joys.

I'll be back with more adventures and inspiring stories tomorrow!

Keep your tutus at the ready, darling.

Love,

Emma
