Coalville Calling: Tutu Time Travels in Pink!
Darling dears,
Well, here I am again, another day, another blog post, another pink tutu to grace my very own body! Today's adventure took me on a delightful train journey to the lovely town of Coalville in Leicestershire - did you know that Leicestershire is a place where you can find amazing horse riding trails? Horses, you see, are another one of my big loves. They're like furry dancers with incredible power, elegance and...well, hooves. Just thinking about riding through a field on a warm summer's day with a breeze in my hair and my tutu trailing behind me is giving me all the feels! 💖🐎
But back to Coalville, the reason I embarked on my pink tutu-fied train trip. Today, darling readers, was all about the magic of dance. My love for ballet is a fierce, fiery passion that knows no bounds! It's more than just a hobby, it's a way of life! So naturally, Coalville had to be the perfect stop-off point for this ballet enthusiast on the go!
I’m telling you, a visit to Coalville just wasn't complete without a visit to their stunning arts centre. Let me tell you, their dance classes are absolute heaven! As I was whirling and pirouetting in my lovely pink tutu (oh, it was a deluxe one, I might add, a swirling dream of feather boa fluff and glitter!) surrounded by fellow dancers, it felt as if I had stepped straight out of a dream into the heart of my true calling! They’re all very serious about their dance moves in Coalville and they are as good as dancers as they are welcoming. I’d recommend the classes for any and every dancer in the region – even if they do just happen to have a passion for pink tutus, I think you'll all love them. And who knows, I might just have spotted the next big star of the dance world in Coalville. They do have one fantastic local school that even has its own academy. Can’t wait to head back soon.
And don’t worry darling dears, Coalville isn't just for dancers! It's home to so many hidden gems that will have you utterly charmed. Imagine wandering through charming parks dotted with playful squirrels, visiting cosy cafes where you can indulge in a decadent afternoon tea, or even immersing yourself in the wonders of the local museum. My lovely, lovely little sister, Rose, loves visiting their museums – especially when there’s dinosaurs. She thinks they are fascinating. Me, I love my dancing dinos – you can bet there were some funky moves at the dinosaur ballet when those giant fellas had a fancy ball!
The town also boasts beautiful, ancient churches that tell stories whispered over centuries. Don't forget to admire their intricate stained glass windows, a true testament to human creativity. There's something truly magical about peering into a church on a sunny afternoon, watching the sunbeams paint kaleidoscopic patterns on the floor. Even when you are surrounded by a group of visitors and their excited shouts it has this effect, so beautiful, peaceful, a great place for contemplation and dreaming…just remember, do look out for the squirrels! And who can resist a visit to the nearby National Forest? Breathe in the fresh air and let your mind wander through majestic treetops and gentle streams, maybe spot some of the local wildlife – did you know that there are all kinds of critters hidden in the forests in Leicestershire? I spied a shy hedgehog taking a stroll on a warm spring day. They are just so cute, although those pointy prickles… I wonder if the fairies give them their pink tutus, hmm, possibly.
After my dancing and exploring, my next stop was a cozy little pub called the... (oh, my dear, my mind has just gone completely blank - how embarrassing!) but don't worry, it was a truly delightful spot. I enjoyed a glass of delicious local ale, watched the sun set in a burst of colours, and listened to the locals tell their stories. In Coalville, they do love their local beers. A warm fireplace and the chatter of friendly locals – that’s true community spirit for you. A place where laughter, friendship and, of course, a glass of good ale come together to create memories that will last a lifetime.
If you are in the mood to explore a bit further, just beyond Coalville, the picturesque countryside is calling for you. Discover the delights of ancient villages with thatched-roof cottages that feel like stepping out of a fairytale, explore the meandering paths along the banks of tranquil rivers, and revel in the vastness of the rolling fields where the sky meets the earth. If you want a beautiful day out, you should do a journey by horse – oh, how divine it would be to take a gentle trot through the fields of Leicestershire, especially as we’re coming to the end of Autumn and the leaves on the trees are turning glorious hues of orange and gold! It’s such a gorgeous place and so beautiful…
You know, darling dears, sometimes I feel as though life itself is like a graceful dance, each moment a unique pirouette, each encounter a graceful arabesque, and every journey a beautiful waltz across the landscape. The little town of Coalville has become another amazing stop in my ballet-infused travel adventures, leaving behind an imprint on my heart – that’s exactly the reason I try and visit a different place every week or fortnight – for a ballerina’s life is a kaleidoscope of experiences. From bustling cities to tranquil towns, I try and make sure that there is something beautiful in each spot, somewhere I can take out my beloved tutu and really feel that the life we lead, it’s a constant beautiful dance, just like ballet.
You know what darling dears, if there’s anything more magical than a beautiful sunset on a crisp, cold day, then I have yet to discover it! I’ll have you all in your pink tutus, twirling amongst the golden autumnal leaves in no time! (I'm already sketching my own designs and planning my big Pink Tutu Revolution. Keep your eyes peeled for news about the grand opening of my own very special “Emma’s Pink Tutu Boutique”! You'll be able to pick up a lovely pink tutu or three for your dance, work or any event you might happen to find yourself attending.) You never know, darling dears – I might just inspire a movement where people all over the world put on pink tutus and dance the world into a state of total gracefulness and good cheer – if only! I dream big, but my dears, nothing is impossible if you dare to dream! Until then, keep your eyes peeled for the next exciting adventure – you never know where this Pink Tutu Travelogue might take us! I’m heading to Scotland tomorrow and I'm thinking my kilt-wearing tutu is getting an airing! Don't miss it!
