Abingdon Adventures: A Tutu Too Tight! (Post #2014)

Hello darlings! Emma here, and today's post is bursting with pinkness and a dash of drama! It's all about my fabulous trip to Abingdon, a delightful little town just outside of Oxford.

The journey itself was a dream come true. I took the train, of course! It’s all about that leisurely journey, with time to relax, watch the countryside fly by, and of course, admire the scenery in a fluffy pink tutu (it’s just not practical for anything else, darling!). The train journey really puts me in a great mood - there’s something truly magical about travelling like that. Just me, my tutu, and a hot cuppa, all heading towards a ballet-filled adventure.

Abingdon itself was charming! Such cobbled streets and quaint little shops...perfect for a bit of retail therapy and, naturally, some tutu hunting! Let me tell you, it was a quest. You see, my favourite shop, a delightful boutique called 'Tutu à la Mode', has this absolutely exquisite collection of tutus - think pink, pink and even more pink! But guess what? This week, they’re all a little, how shall we say...tight? A tad too tight, darling. So, my search for the perfect Abingdon tutu continued!

After a lunch of yummy finger sandwiches and delicious tea at a delightful little cafe, the sun came out, and so did the swans! I don't know what it is about swans but they always remind me of ballerinas, don’t you think? The grace, the elegance... even the way they hold their heads is just like a prima ballerina!

Later, it was on to the ballet performance at Abingdon Theatre! It was a real treat to be able to experience the talent of the local ballet troupe. It’s always wonderful to be inspired by those who love ballet as much as I do. They had a whole range of dancers, from beginners to those who have been dancing since they were toddlers. Seeing the passion they had on their faces really warmed my heart. There were a few wobbly steps and a lot of beautiful jumps, but most of all, there was pure, unadulterated joy in dancing.

Did I mention that they also had some beautiful costuming? One of the ballerinas even wore a gorgeous pink tutu! But mine’s definitely a bit tighter.

Speaking of pink tutus, I can’t stress enough the importance of getting your own tutu! It doesn’t matter how you look, where you’ve been, or where you’re going, darling. There’s something inherently magical about a pink tutu that brings out the childlike joy and passion in all of us! I hope that my journey to Abingdon inspires you to dance with joy and spread your love for ballet to all who cross your path!
