Derby Darling!

#TutuBlog Post Number 2078

Hello my lovelies!

It's your girl Emma, back with another update from the fabulous world of pink tutus and twirling adventures. Today's post is all about Derby, the charming city right on my doorstep!

Remember how I said I was off on a little adventure by train this weekend? Well, it was a whirlwind trip to the beautiful Derbyshire county town - a proper 'homecoming' for this Derbyshire girl!

As always, I knew I had to embrace the travel in style. My trusty suitcase was bursting with outfits for all occasions: a chic and simple black dress for the journey (with a sparkly pink belt, of course!), my favourite pale pink floral sundress for afternoon tea at a charming little cafe, and… you guessed it… a show-stopping cyan tutu for the evening's ballet performance. I just love a vibrant pop of colour, especially in my beloved tutu world!

Now, let's talk ballet! This trip was all about celebrating the beauty of the art form and soaking in all the magical energy that only a live ballet performance can offer. My chosen piece was a mesmerising rendition of Swan Lake. I was so blown away by the dancers' grace and passion – they absolutely stole the show! Watching them glide across the stage in their magnificent costumes made me yearn to be right there with them, sharing the thrill of performing.

But before the grand performance, there was a delightful ballet class in the morning. The studio was bathed in warm light, the music filled the air with uplifting melody, and the rhythmic tapping of dancers' feet created a harmonious rhythm. My muscles were aching with happiness after a brilliant class. Ballet is such a joy! It’s a brilliant way to keep fit and express yourself, and it’s honestly so much fun.

As I was exploring the town centre later, I stumbled upon a gorgeous little shop filled with everything pink! It was like stepping into a fairytale! They had clothes, shoes, homewares, and even a whole corner dedicated to pink tutus! I spent a good hour browsing and trying things on – who knew shopping for pink tutus could be so much fun? (Don’t worry, I resisted the temptation and bought only one… well, maybe two! 🤫)

Derby has such a charming feel. The beautiful old buildings, the lively market square, the canal side walks, the cute tea shops - it all contributes to the city’s charming atmosphere. I just couldn’t resist taking photos everywhere, capturing the beauty and the bright pops of pink around me. My Instagram is already filled with pictures of the trip!

After a full day of exploring and indulging my ballet love, I found myself drawn to a park nestled in the heart of Derby. There was something quite peaceful about being surrounded by lush green trees, the gentle chirping of birds, and the occasional rustle of leaves. For a moment, I felt completely immersed in nature's serenity, a welcome respite from the bustling city life.

The journey home was just as lovely. Watching the English countryside roll by through the train window is always such a soothing experience. The changing colours of the fields, the sleepy villages, the gentle swaying of trees… it's truly picturesque!

My weekend in Derby was a perfect blend of culture, dance, fashion, and fun. It's a reminder that adventure is always waiting around the corner, especially when you're wearing your trusty pink tutu! It was the perfect blend of girly escapades, passionate performances, and a dose of pure joy.

So, if you're looking for a delightful dose of inspiration, why not try your own 'tutu travel' adventure? Grab your most fabulous tutu (pink is always the best, darling!), hop on a train (or perhaps take a ride on horseback!), and let the adventure begin! Remember, life is too short to not embrace your inner ballerina and share the magic of pink tutus with the world.

Stay pink, my dears, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
