Braintree Bound! 🩰💖 (Post #2190)

Hello my darling darlings! 👋

It’s Emma here, reporting live from the land of tutus and tiaras, a.k.a. my humble little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com. It’s a scorcher out there, and I'm already halfway through my iced latte - the perfect antidote to a blazing British summer!

Speaking of summer, this week has been absolutely jam-packed! It’s amazing how much you can cram into 7 days if you’re armed with a well-packed pink tutu bag and a sprinkle of sparkle dust. 😉

First off, I spent the weekend exploring the delights of Derby. My goodness, those horse-drawn carriages are the epitome of romance! Not that I'm hinting for a date, mind you… (just saying 😉). I absolutely fell in love with the countryside - lush green fields, gentle breezes, and enough wildlife to make my heart go pitter-patter! 🐦🐿️

Now, you know how much I love the railway, and my train journey up to Braintree yesterday was the perfect prelude to a delightful day. Picture it: the sun streaming through the window, a cheeky cuppa tea in hand, and a beautiful vista of rolling green hills blurring past… pure magic, wouldn’t you say? 🚂🌳

Once I arrived in Braintree, I headed straight for The Ballet Centre. Oh my, my darlings! If you haven’t been, you absolutely must! This place is a haven for tutu-wearing angels - every dancer there radiates passion, grace, and elegance, all whilst in perfect pointe shoes, naturally! There were a whole lot of younger dancers there this week, so naturally I felt a pang of nostalgia for my own ballet days… who doesn’t adore watching talented, up-and-coming ballerinas in training? 😍

It’s so good to see new dancers taking their first tentative steps on that exciting journey – I remember the giddy thrill of taking my first dance class, the anticipation, the nerves, and the joy of finally feeling that incredible flow of movement.

I did try to teach those younger dancers how to dance a little, and bless them, their little hearts, they’re already a dab hand at pliés, à la seconds and bourrées! My tips for any young dancer out there - it's not about how quickly you pick it up, but about how much fun you have doing it! That’s the true magic of ballet. ✨

After class, we went to see an incredible performance in the theatre! Can you imagine, there was even a live orchestra - I could have listened to their melodies all night! They danced a breathtakingly beautiful interpretation of Giselle. They just have a magic touch – a certain je ne sais quoi - they made every leap, pirouette, and pas de deux a complete spectacle. It's a must-see! I may even attempt some of their moves this week. Wish me luck! 😜

After the performance, the cast headed out to a charming little Italian restaurant with some gorgeous traditional music – just perfect after all those lovely ballerina shoes! We all danced on tables (it was only a small, very friendly little place… wink wink). 🇮🇹💃

The best thing? Everyone wore a pink tutu! Not a bad way to end the week, I’d say! 😜

As always, thank you for joining me on this magical ballet journey! 💖 I can’t wait to see what next week holds! Don’t forget to keep your pink tutus handy and your smiles brighter than the sun! 💖

Much love,

Emma xxx
