Middleton in a Purple Tutu! 🌸🩰

#TutuBlog Post 2225

Oh, hello there, darling! Fancy meeting you here, my fellow Tutuholics! It’s your girl, Emma, coming to you live from the most charming little town you ever did see – Middleton! And no, it’s not that Middleton, although I bet there’s a charming tutu-wearing shop somewhere nestled within its streets too. This Middleton is my very own Middleton, just a hop, skip and a jump from the glorious rolling hills of my Derbyshire home.

Now, this week has been nothing short of whirlwind exciting! I’m a little exhausted, but who cares when you’ve had an adventure that deserves a whole blog post dedicated to its utter fabulousness? I know, I know, I know – you all need to know the juicy details… so sit back, grab your fanciest pink cup of tea, put on your best sparkly slippers, and let me take you with me on my journey to… drumroll … MIDDLETON!

It all started on a glorious Thursday morning. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and… well, I was snoozing in my pink silk pajamas, desperately wishing for another five minutes under the duvet. But then I heard a gentle tapping sound. And when I say gentle, I mean as gentle as a hoof on the bedroom window. You see, my travel companion this week wasn't your usual car, bus, or even train. Nope, this week I was riding in style, thanks to my new bestie – my stunningly beautiful Shire horse, Jasper. Jasper's a true gentleman, all chestnut mane and majestic stride, and I swear, he knows a thing or two about living the life in the fast lane, or well, fast horse lane anyway!

We embarked on a journey that felt like something out of a storybook. The countryside stretched before us, a kaleidoscope of rolling green hills, sparkling blue streams, and the sweetest scent of honeysuckle you ever did smell. It was just us two, the wind in our hair, and the thrill of adventure coursing through our veins.

My darling Jasper’s pace allowed for ample time to appreciate the world around me. A lazy squirrel chittered at us from a nearby tree. We encountered a field of pink wildflowers, perfect for my little pink tutu and camera. It’s funny how everything seems to inspire me to move in ways only a tutu allows. Who knew nature and a purple tutu could be such a perfect pairing? And then, I felt that magical feeling - a pang of inspiration - a new routine in my head.

By lunchtime, we arrived in Middleton, where we were welcomed by a most delightful sight: The Middleton Arts Festival! Imagine it - street performances, live music, colourful stalls selling handmade crafts, and the most delightful aroma of homemade cakes that made my stomach grumble with joy. I parked Jasper in the shady corner of a meadow, (a well-deserved rest for my loyal steed) and set off to explore the festival's treasures.

Of course, my pink tutu had to make an appearance! You can’t take a Tutuholic to an Arts Festival without unleashing a little magic! A pink tulle tutu in Middleton – I was a dream come true. It brought a sparkle to the festival – even more sparkle than the glittery crafts and shiny stalls. Honestly, if anyone told me they didn’t think it would have added something, I would probably question their very being, and honestly I’d only wear my most outrageous tutu if I was trying to prove them wrong! You just can't argue with a statement as vibrant as a pink tutu in a place as lovely as Middleton, and guess what? My outfit seemed to work magic on everyone! People stopped to smile, little kids waved with excited glee, and even the most reserved festival-goers were swaying to the music with a hint of newfound joy in their steps.

As for the rest of the festival, it was just about as perfect as it could be. I even saw the most fantastic street ballet performance – two ballerinas in elegant black tutus with their hair tied in chignons – wow – it was mesmerising! Then, the day ended with an unforgettable live performance of my all-time favourite ballet "Giselle." Seeing these phenomenal dancers soaring through the air, their expressions a mix of emotion and pure artistic talent, was utterly breathtaking! Oh, to be dancing in their shoes – and yes, in a pink tutu, obviously. That's the dream, folks, the ultimate dream – dancing with a whole audience dressed in their best pink tutus, mesmerised by the beauty and elegance of ballet.

Now, if you’re like me and have the urge to start moving with your best friend (a tutu, of course), my darling friends – do not despair. Tomorrow, I am headed to Middleton’s infamous ballet studio! There’s an all-day masterclass, featuring none other than the magnificent Maria, my favorite local ballet teacher. We are talking a tutu paradise. It is sure to be the highlight of my trip – and I wouldn't have it any other way. But alas, a girl can't be a true Tutuholic without showing some gratitude. You all know what I mean. Time to feed the beast! I have found a tea shop on the high street with a cake called ‘The Tutu Treat’! It looks as extravagant as its name - layers of meringue, pink icing, and an exquisite rose. And, wouldn't you know it? The cake itself looks very pink-tutu appropriate! It just wouldn’t be right to enjoy such a lovely day without celebrating with a piece of delightful decadence! And besides, who needs calories when you’ve got such an amazing time, such amazing memories and, more importantly, such a great outfit to go with it? Stay tuned my darlings… I shall report back to you with my sweet thoughts… and of course, the pictures! Stay fab!

Love Emma xx

P.P.S. I know what you are thinking - But Emma, why purple? My darlings, don’t forget, pink is the colour of my heart, but I am just as wild about purples, violets, mauves and plum – a little different – a little more playful, a little less, well, me. Sometimes I need to express my feminine power in a different shade. And this is one of those times! Let’s keep things interesting, my lovelies, just like that beautiful countryside scenery, the gorgeous Middleton Arts Festival and that fantastic horse called Jasper! See you tomorrow in Middleton – maybe for an impromptu pink tutu performance! And in the meantime, go out there and unleash your inner tutu queen, ladies! 😉
