Rhyl - Post 2318 - My Pancake Tutu Adventure

Hello my lovely pink tutu people! Today I’m taking you on a little adventure to Rhyl. Yes, you read that right, the gorgeous seaside town on the North Wales coast! I hopped on the train from Derbyshire – I’m such a sucker for train travel, it just feels so chic and bohemian doesn’t it? I do have to admit that I had a fleeting dream about travelling by horse, that would have been truly magnificent, but the station in Derby has been rather lacking in stallions of late. 😉

Now, before I tell you all about the wonders of Rhyl, I just have to share my latest creation: a pancake tutu! Yes, you heard that right! 🥞 I saw the most exquisite pink silk at my favourite fabric store the other day and decided to whip up something special for my trip. You know how much I love my tutus, and this one is just divine - a swirl of fluffy tulle with the most gorgeous shimmer and, of course, a smattering of pink sequins. The pancake element came from the way I've sewn the layers, giving it a beautiful rounded shape - just like a fluffy pancake.

I wore my new creation to a gorgeous ballet performance at the Rhyl Pavilion. Let me tell you, it was truly magnificent! The dancers were absolutely incredible, soaring through the air with grace and elegance. They were like pink feathers dancing on the breeze! It got me thinking about the magic of ballet, the way it combines beauty and athleticism, and how it’s truly a universal language that transcends words. It's pure joy! 🩰

Now, back to Rhyl itself. This charming town is just brimming with seaside charm! We took a leisurely stroll along the promenade, stopping to admire the playful seagulls. It truly makes you appreciate the wonders of wildlife, their cheeky antics, the way they soar above the waves with such confidence. Oh, how I'd love to fly like them, with the salty air in my hair. But let's face it, that wouldn’t look very glamorous, even with a tutu. 😄

We found the cutest little cafe by the sea, with tables out on the balcony overlooking the water. We ordered hot chocolate – two of course – I just can't resist a creamy hot chocolate in a beautiful pastel mug. And you just wouldn't believe the amount of sprinkles they generously put on it – like a sprinkle-covered rainbow of joy! You see, it's the little details that make a trip truly memorable! 🌈

Later on, we braved the bracing sea air with a leisurely walk along the sandy beach. The sun was starting to set, casting long, golden shadows across the water – a scene so breathtaking it could bring a tear to the most stoic eye! 🌅 I can’t wait to explore the surrounding countryside - it’s the ideal place for a spot of countryside ballet. Don’t you agree? It’s my firm belief that the world needs a little more ballet, especially out in nature – who wouldn’t enjoy seeing a tutu fluttering in the wildflower meadows or pirouettes amidst the swaying reeds? It would be sheer magic, wouldn’t it?

Of course, no trip to the seaside is complete without a bit of shopping. The little boutiques along the high street were overflowing with beautiful things. I couldn’t resist a gorgeous pair of fluffy pink earrings, just perfect for my new tutu. And I snagged a beautiful vintage scarf – a vibrant orange swirl, the perfect pop of colour to go with a tutu, you know what I’m talking about! 😄

As the day drew to a close, we found ourselves on the cliff tops, with the gentle waves lapping against the rocks below. It was truly magical - the smell of salty air, the distant cries of seals and the gentle hum of a nearby lighthouse. And all that, with the backdrop of the most incredible sunset I’ve ever seen - the sky turned a fiery mix of orange and pink! Just like my favourite tutu, and the beautiful sky was reflecting back at me, you know, with all that pink love! It was an incredible way to end a truly enchanting day. 💗

Remember my loves, it’s my mission to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina. Wear a pink tutu! Try a class. Let the world know that ballet is for everyone, and let’s dance through life with smiles on our faces and a love of beauty in our hearts! Until tomorrow, darlings. Keep those tutus twirling!

Lots of love,

Emma
