#TutuBlog 2002-12-18: Paris, je t'aime! (Post #2359)

Bonjour, my darlings!

Today's blog is a little bit special. Why? Because I'm in Paris! The City of Lights, the capital of fashion, the home of...well, you get the picture. It's magical, and my pink tutu has been itching for an excuse to twirl through these charming cobbled streets.

How did I get here, you ask? Well, I took the train, of course! It's just so romantic, travelling by rail, with the clickety-clack of the wheels and the sweeping countryside vistas zipping by. Plus, it gave me time to catch up on some reading, and let's face it, who doesn't love a good travel-themed read while in transit?

I've only been here for a couple of days, but I've already seen so much! We started with the obvious, the Eiffel Tower! I mean, how can you go to Paris and not gawk at this magnificent structure? The whole city just shimmered and glowed with twinkling lights, and let's be honest, the whole Eiffel Tower experience was perfectly picturesque for a pink tutu! I had the most fabulous photo shoot there, I'm talking dramatic, Parisian-style photos against the city lights. Just you wait for my Instagram posts later!

Speaking of picturesque, have you ever seen the gardens at Versailles? It's almost like being transported into a painting. The symmetry, the colours, the delicate blooms – oh, I could have spent hours just strolling and daydreaming. And my darling, I absolutely HAD to take my tutu for a spin around those grounds, the combination of French architecture and whimsical pink tutus is just chef's kiss

Now, let's get to the real reason why I'm here: the ballet! Paris has a rich history of ballet, you know? From the opulent opera house to the intimate studios, I can feel the artistic pulse of this city beating in every step.

I've booked a ticket to see Giselle at the Palais Garnier this week, and I'm beside myself with excitement! Imagine, sitting in the plush velvet seats, champagne in hand, surrounded by Parisian fashionistas, and taking in a classical ballet that has captivated audiences for centuries. My tutu is already dancing with anticipation!

Besides the official ballet scene, I'm also going to hit some street performances, too. Paris is full of street dancers, from breakdancers to tap-dancing maestros. I have a feeling the whole city lives with music and movement, even beyond the grand theatres!

On a different note, my love of horses brought me to a horse-drawn carriage ride this morning. Oh my, the clip-clop of hooves, the gentle swaying of the carriage, the beautiful Parisian avenues gliding by… it felt like I was starring in a French movie! Honestly, it’s such a quintessential Parisian experience.

To top it off, I've had the most delightful time exploring the wildlife. Paris has these gorgeous parks, and you see all sorts of creatures; from cute, fluffy ducks and grumpy swans to charming little squirrels. They add this element of wilderness that adds to the magic.

It's been an incredible few days so far, filled with magic, elegance, and all things pink, of course. I've got so much more to share - the French patisseries I've discovered (chocolate croissants - heaven!), the stylish people watching, the feeling of utter Parisian joy. I know, I know, I sound like a cliché tourist. But honestly, Paris truly lives up to the hype, it’s like a dream!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for more Paris shenanigans! And please, tell me, what's your favourite thing about Paris? What would your perfect pink tutu outfit be for a Parisian adventure? Let's chat in the comments below!

XOXO

Emma

(P.S. Remember, let’s all wear a pink tutu and dance! It’s a fabulous way to make the world a little brighter!)
