Salford Shenanigans! (Post #2373) 🩰💖

Hey lovelies! It’s your favourite Derbyshire tutu-wearing gal, Emma, reporting live from the fabulous Salford! As I’m typing this, my new pancake tutu is getting its first outing. 🥞✨

Let me explain. After my fabulous weekend in Manchester, where I, of course, hit up the ballet, it was time to head back to Derbyshire for a bit of nature therapy (I can’t be around tutus and dancers 24/7 – much as I’d love to!). I took the train, which was absolutely heavenly! You see, I just can't get enough of those sleek carriages gliding through the countryside - they’re almost as dreamy as ballet. Plus, the horses on the nearby farm, neighing with all their might, were such a joy to watch from my window seat. The air was so crisp, and the views - stunning!

I've been dying to share a little story about this weekend with you all. You know I love getting all dressed up and exploring, so you can imagine my excitement for a whirlwind trip to Salford, where I got to delve into a world of…well… pancake art!

It’s all part of a fabulous exhibition at the Salford Museum & Art Gallery. Honestly, you guys, it’s a whole other level of creative - not only did they have incredible artworks, but they also featured some amazing examples of culinary creativity! My new best friend? A "Pancake Art Project," where talented artists from across the globe showcase their skill using pancake batter and different colourful ingredients! I mean, who would have thought that you could even make a portrait, a cat, or a beautiful flower using only a pan, a whisk, and some batter? They were absolutely gorgeous, with every detail perfect - I swear, the ones I saw looked better than the cakes they sell in London’s most exclusive bakeries!

So naturally, with this level of creativity, a girl had to up her fashion game! 😉 You already know my love for tutus is well-documented (if you haven’t checked out my online shop for bespoke tutu designs, you’re missing out!), and you guys know how I love a theme. So, my inspiration for my Salford outfit came directly from the exhibit - pancakes, my dears! Now, don’t worry, no batter actually went into this ensemble (though I was very tempted to try out pancake makeup!). Instead, I went with a custom tutu, the fabric flowing beautifully and creating the impression of a fluffy, delicious pancake, complete with chocolate drizzles. I mean, it was so fabulous, the exhibit even featured me and my creation on their social media pages! You should've seen it; I practically floated with glee!

To complete the look, I wore a pink fitted blouse (I never shy away from a touch of pink - it's simply the best colour!) and my favourite pair of white ankle boots. Because honestly, let's be real - my style isn’t about perfectly matching colours; it’s all about embracing the joy and whimsy of life and expressing myself in the most fantastic way! And what’s more fantastical than a pancake-inspired tutu?!

I even tried my hand at a few pancake art creations, too, though I’m still a bit rough around the edges. They're a lot more complicated than they look, these pancakies! But hey, I'm a firm believer in having fun and giving it a go, even if things get a little messy (no worries, there’s no flour on my tutus, even when I'm cooking!) - that's what life’s all about, isn’t it?

If you’re thinking about a fun trip with a side of creative culinary delight, head down to the Salford Museum & Art Gallery - it’s definitely worth the train ride! But whatever you do, remember, whether it’s a tutu or a pancake, unleash the joy of creating and embrace your own individual style! And don’t be afraid to think outside the box, because with a bit of imagination, the world is your canvas.

Stay fabulous and keep dancing, Emma xx

P.S. Did I mention that the exhibition has a beautiful pink flamingo installation? (I told you pink was the best colour!) 🦩💖 Just another reason to visit this incredible museum!

P.P.S. My little side quest to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu continues, but I also have a new ambition – to get everyone dancing (and maybe making a few delicious pancakes, too!). Don’t forget to check out my newest tutu design collection on www.pink-tutu.com – they’re perfect for a little pirouette or a casual stroll through the park. Because there’s always a reason to twirl and embrace the beauty around us, whether you’re in Derbyshire or Salford, at the ballet or on a hike. Stay fabulously fabulous! 💕
