Grays, Oh Grays, My Love for You Grows! - Post 2416
Hey, pink-tutu.com followers! Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast and ballet-loving gal from Derbyshire, writing to you live from the delightful town of Grays! It’s been an incredible journey to get here, and it wouldn’t be complete without a good dose of ballet, travel, and of course, a little bit of pink!
Riding the Rails in Style
Now, I’m not going to lie, the journey from Derbyshire to Grays was a bit of a rollercoaster. I’m not talking about the kind with loops and drops, mind you, but a very pleasant train ride. And for those of you who don’t know me, a train journey is a beautiful thing. The chugging rhythm, the passing scenery, the soft clatter of wheels against tracks - it’s all just so romantic! But here’s the secret to a fab train journey – the perfect outfit.
I decided to embrace the colour of the day, grey, with a beautiful long, charcoal grey wool coat and a pink cashmere scarf. And how can you even think of travelling without a tutu, even if you’re not going to the ballet? I opted for a classic American-style tutu in a soft shade of dusky rose. Just a touch of pink, to make sure the world knew who the Queen of the Rails was! I got so many smiles and waves as I travelled. Turns out a little bit of pink and tulle makes the most ordinary journey extraordinary!
The Charm of Grays
Once I arrived in Grays, I was immediately taken with the town's character. There was an old-world charm, a quiet history, just waiting to be explored. And explore, I did!
I found myself wandering the historic streets, the air alive with the sounds of laughter, birdsong, and the clinking of glasses from the local pubs. There’s something magical about stepping into the past. And who am I kidding? I could find a ballet-themed detail just about everywhere I looked. A bird on a roof resembling a ballerina en pointe? You bet! The way the sunlight hits the river making a glistening pathway perfect for my tutu-covered leaps? Check! Every day is an adventure for me, full of artistic beauty waiting to be seen!
The Ballet is My Life!
Speaking of adventure, my time in Grays has also included some amazing ballet-related happenings.
Firstly, a spectacular show at the Thameside Theatre - I’m not just a ballet-lover – I love the theatre too, and the grandeur and sophistication of a full ballet production is beyond compare! And there I was, taking it all in from the front row! They put on a beautifully dynamic performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ - my absolute favourite Christmas story! If you haven't experienced the theatre and the beauty of a well-executed show, then it's high time you do. I have so much joy, excitement, and pride when I see other people share in my love for ballet, it truly is infectious!
Of course, no trip is complete without a good ballet class. There was a lovely little studio just a short walk from my charming hotel, and it had all the classic charm you’d want – wood floors, high ceilings, and mirrors that reflect the beauty of every movement! It was pure bliss – it always takes me back to my own time spent learning the art of ballet – it's just wonderful!
Living My Best Life!
After a fun evening exploring the town, a quick detour to the local park, and even more photo ops for you pink-tutu lovers (I never tire of snapping pics in my tutu), I treated myself to some hot chocolate and pastries at a delightful little bakery just a stone’s throw from my hotel.
Being a blogger isn’t just about showing you what’s trending – it’s about sharing life’s little joys! It’s about finding that little touch of pink in a grey world and embracing it with open arms and an even wider smile. I believe we should all do a little ballet each day - it just gives you that spark of excitement! And hey, a tutu wouldn't hurt either. What I love most is the happiness and joy that this whole adventure gives me.
So here's to more exciting travel, more captivating ballet, more pink in the world, and of course, more pink-tutu.com! Tune in tomorrow for a new post, same time, same channel!
Lots of love,
Emma xoxo
