Sutton in Ashfield: A Day of Twirls and Tea

#2467

Good morning, my darlings! It's Emma here, and today I'm bringing you a slice of sunshine from the charming town of Sutton in Ashfield.

I'm off to a ballet workshop, which, as you know, is basically my favourite thing ever. Can you believe it's been ten years since I first donned my first tutu? Time really does fly when you're leaping through life, right? But anyway, back to Sutton in Ashfield! This sweet little town has been bubbling on my travel list for ages - you see, it boasts a fantastically vibrant arts scene and a particularly lovely dance school. I'm talking traditional Victorian architecture with soaring ceilings, twinkling lights, and a grand piano that sings.

Of course, no trip is complete without a dose of my favourite shade: pink! The train journey was delightful; I wore my favourite lilac dress with my trusty cherry red satchel, the kind with lots of pockets for ballet shoes, hair ties, and emergency lip gloss, you know the drill.

The morning began with a leisurely stroll through the quaint market square. It's truly charming! You'll be hard-pressed to find a prettier sight than rows and rows of brightly coloured flowers bursting with colour - enough to put even a passionate pink lover like myself to shame.

Now, my dears, I can't begin to describe the sheer joy of finally slipping back into a tutu. The feeling is heavenly, truly. I chose my cyan blue one this time, the perfect blend of boldness and elegance. The workshop was fantastic - I learned a few new tricks, stretched those leg muscles, and, most importantly, met a group of equally passionate dance enthusiasts. Honestly, some of them even dare to say they prefer their own colour tutus to pink... gasp! gasp! It's hard to be so outspoken!

After the workshop, I decided to treat myself to a proper afternoon tea, because let's be honest, what's better than cake and delicate finger sandwiches? The atmosphere in the quaint tearoom was a dream, full of floral patterns, lace doilies, and the constant chatter of gossiping ladies. The tea was deliciously fragrant, and the scones were light and fluffy. If I had a choice between a delicious pink tutu and a warm scone with clotted cream, it would be a close one! gasp gasp!

But before heading back to Derbyshire, I couldn't resist a quick visit to the nearby Sherwood Forest, the stomping ground of the legendary Robin Hood. Imagine, my dears, prancing through those ancient trees in my tutu, a fierce look on my face as I wield my imaginary bow and arrow! laughs Now that would be quite the scene! And the forest truly is magical, with towering trees reaching for the sky and a feeling of timeless wonder hanging in the air.

Speaking of wonder, you all know how much I adore wildlife, so a walk through Sherwood Forest was the perfect end to a delightful day. We spotted a majestic stag, its antlers proudly displayed like a crown, as it grazed peacefully in a sunlit glade. Watching its majestic grace brought a whole new dimension to my "leap and twirl" fantasies - imagine the graceful jumps, the delicate dips!

Final Thoughts

Oh, my loves, Sutton in Ashfield has absolutely charmed me! A picturesque town with an artistic heart, delicious food, and beautiful green spaces, what more could I ask for? But you know what? What really brought the day home for me were those gorgeous dance moves. If I can take one thing from this beautiful town it is that I'm on my way to finally finding the strength to reach perfect ballerina perfection, one elegant pose at a time. You know I don't get everything perfectly right first time, but it feels so satisfying to really practice and build my confidence. I also realised, today, that it's not about what kind of tutu you wear. It's about finding the passion inside you to be bold and beautiful and express yourself through movement!

Do tell me all about your days. Did you find anything pretty and pink, did you try something new? I hope so.

And remember, darlings, don't be afraid to twirl. Embrace the pink, embrace the movement, embrace yourself! And who knows, maybe you'll be the one leading the next big ballet craze. You go, girls!

Stay radiant, * *Emma
