Kingswood Calling: A Tutu and Train Trip! (Post #2492)

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving blogger, Emma, back with another exciting update from the world of twirls and travel! Today, I'm buzzing with a whirlwind of pink-hued excitement. Why, you ask? Well, because my journey to Kingswood, a quaint little town nestled in the heart of England, was simply delightful.

Firstly, let me tell you about my journey. I’m all about ditching the usual modes of transport and opting for something a little more whimsical. So, I took a lovely train journey – all smooth velvet seats, charming countryside views, and, of course, a comfy tutu (I wore my brand new blush pink one, it's a bit of a head-turner!). Trains, in my humble opinion, are the perfect way to travel for a true ballerina - they offer time to think, to practice my arabesques in the aisle, and to soak in the beauty of the world as it flashes by.

Arriving in Kingswood was like stepping into a picture postcard. Imagine cobbled streets, charming tea rooms with floral-patterned china, and a quaint village square where a symphony of birdsong serenades the day. A charming gentleman in a tweed jacket offered to carry my luggage, so polite! Of course, I paid him back with a grand twirl (can’t resist the opportunity!), earning a chuckle and a "Well done, love!" - I really do bring joy to everyone around me! He directed me to the Kingswood Ballet Studio – a beautiful, bright, airy space bathed in soft, pale pink lighting - what more could a tutu enthusiast need?

I met with the lovely Helen, the studio owner, and was instantly taken with her infectious enthusiasm and her adorable poodle, Priscilla, who is always wearing the most amazing pink bows on her curly hair - how fabulous is that? After a brief chat, I changed into my signature, custom-designed, pink tutu (with pearl embellishments of course) and my custom-made ballet shoes with little bows on them, of course, (you just wouldn't catch me wearing the regular ones! I've got to be comfortable as well as fabulous!). Then, the most magical part of the day began.

A group of the most lovely dancers - each with their own unique style and talent, surrounded me. I joined them for a class that was simply divine! We flowed with grace and fluidity, exploring the language of our bodies, the beauty of classical ballet, and the sheer joy of movement. Oh, the feeling of pure freedom and creativity as we twirled and leaped was pure bliss!

Of course, we had a good giggle along the way too - it’s so important to find the joy in everything, and especially when you’re being taught something as fantastic as ballet! After class, Helen shared a pot of steaming hot tea, infused with lavender, with the most delightful little pink biscuits and (guess what? - yes!) a giant piece of delicious pink Victoria sponge. I simply must share the recipe with you all soon - so stay tuned for that!

The next morning, Helen and Priscilla drove me to the Kingswood Theater. It was a magnificent space - its red velvet seats gleaming under the soft stage lighting. The energy thrummed in the air as we settled into our seats, ready for a magical show. A symphony of pink costumes swirled across the stage, punctuated by powerful leaps and intricate footwork - oh, the passion and elegance on display was so very inspiring!

Afterwards, I had the pleasure of meeting the dancers in the foyer, a delightful group of girls who I will be supporting throughout the rest of their ballet careers (oh I love finding raw talent!) - so keep your eye out for them, my darlings. We all posed together in the centre of the foyer - I naturally took the lead, with my magnificent pink tutu standing out, of course! The photos will be on my pink-tutu.com blog soon!

Leaving Kingswood, a touch of sadness twirled in my heart, knowing that my magical adventure was drawing to a close. But the joy of the experience was etched deeply in my mind. I already can’t wait to return.

I was, of course, determined to capture the true beauty of this idyllic town. So, what else could I have done but pack my portable photo studio and create a set of photos that truly reflected the joy of Kingswood! So get ready to enjoy some fabulous images on my blog - including Priscilla wearing a matching pink tutu and some truly spectacular images of the swans and geese who took such a shine to me ( I think it must have been the pink!) I simply had to take them back to the studio with me so I can create some incredible photo portraits of them - so keep an eye on the website!

One final thing I learned on this trip. My heart belongs not just in ballet and travel, but also in caring for animals. Seeing the gentleness and kindness in their eyes is like seeing the best of our world - I shall start to post more about the little friends that cross my path so be sure to stay tuned for that.

Now, I must be on my way - my suitcase is calling! I'm heading off on my next grand adventure, and, you guessed it - my signature pink tutu is in tow!

Until next time, remember: Let your spirit twirl, embrace the pink, and don't forget to love life!

Lots of love, Emma xxx
