Consett Calling! (Post #2568)

Oh my darlings, I hope this finds you all twirling with joy! It's Emma here, back from another glorious adventure, and this time, I'm bringing you a little taste of Consett! Now, I know what you're thinking - Consett? Not the most glamorous location, right? But trust me, it holds a special place in my heart, and today I'm going to convince you to add it to your travel bucket list!

The journey, of course, was part of the fun. I opted for the train, as usual - nothing beats the romance of a good old fashioned carriage ride. A bit of light reading, a cuppa (pink tea, naturally!), and watching the world fly by outside. It was a crisp summer morning, the kind that makes your cheeks rosy and puts a little spring in your step. Just like when you're on your way to a ballet class, the anticipation building with each passing moment.

Consett itself is a charming little town in County Durham, known for its mining history and stunning countryside. As a girl who grew up in the rolling hills of Derbyshire, it instantly felt familiar, like a nostalgic embrace. It's also home to an amazing little dance studio tucked away on a cobblestone street. It felt like I'd stepped out of a movie, a tiny, almost magical space full of dancers of all ages, twirling and leaping, just like my little heart yearns to do.

Speaking of twirling, what did I wear to explore Consett, you ask? You'll never guess! (But I know you'll love it, you pink-loving, tutu-adoring darlings!). That's right, a vibrant orange tutu! Don't worry, it was perfectly toned down by my trusty pink cardigan and sparkly ballet shoes, a hint of whimsy for a perfect day. Of course, a good dash of lip gloss and my favorite floral headband was the perfect touch. It’s my motto – spread joy wherever I go.

Now, one thing you all know about me is I'm an absolute wildlife enthusiast. So, after my dance studio visit (it would be rude not to participate, right? It’s like I was meant to be there!), I took a walk in the countryside, soaking up the fresh air and the sunshine, listening to the birds sing their sweet songs. Did you know, there are more than 250 species of bird in the UK! Honestly, sometimes I think they are better dressed than we are, with all those wonderful colours and feathers!

Later, I discovered this tiny little tea room hidden away in a tucked-away corner. The woman who ran it had the warmest smile and the sweetest, pinkest roses blooming in her garden. I was in heaven! And what did I have for tea, you ask? Why, a delightful raspberry and almond cake, of course! There’s something so elegant about afternoon tea, isn't it? Especially with a good dose of pink sprinkles on top!

As the evening descended, the sky became a canvas of shimmering pink, reflecting the fiery colours of the sunset. And the air became alive with the call of owls. Oh, the magic! Consett had captured a piece of my heart.

I spent the rest of the evening enjoying the company of local residents. Turns out Consett has a bustling community, a charming mix of generations all enjoying the warm summer evening. The warmth of the locals reminded me of how we all, in our own way, are part of one big family, connected through our shared love for life's simple joys, like good music, hearty laughter and those delightful shared stories we carry within our hearts.

Leaving Consett the next morning, with a happy heart and a little sadness in my soul (as it always goes when I bid farewell to a new place!), I couldn’t help but think - what better way to experience the world than through a pink-tinted lens, a whimsical dance in every step? My darling friends, remember, the world is waiting for you, to be explored, to be danced upon! So go out there, put on your prettiest tutu (any colour!), and find your own little piece of magic. And never forget: pink is the colour of joy! And just for you, I've got a special discount code for a little something special - “PINKTUTU10” at the checkout of my online store. You won’t regret it, I promise!

Until next time, twirl with love,

Emma
