Stockport Calling: Pancake Tutu and Pink Pandemonium! (Post #2616)

Hello my lovely Tutu Tribe! 🩰💖

It's your favourite Derbyshire girl, Emma, back with another whirlwind adventure! Today, I'm bursting with excitement to tell you about my trip to Stockport!

I hopped on a train – nothing quite beats the romantic clinking of the tracks, and a cuppa from the buffet car – and arrived in Stockport, a town steeped in history (and I do love me some history). They say it was once home to a mighty Roman fort – how glamorous! Imagine twirling in your finest tutu amongst the Roman ruins, you’d definitely be the most stylish centurion in town! 😉

Of course, the real star of the show was my outfit! Let’s face it, any excuse for a tutu is a good excuse. Today I was feeling especially bold and flamboyant. I paired my hot pink tutu, (my lucky one, with a delicate lace overlay and a touch of silver sparkle, just for a bit of drama!), with a cute pale pink vintage cardigan. A little vintage floral brooch to complete the look and bam, I was ready to grace Stockport with my pink presence!

My journey began at the iconic Stockport Market Hall, a beautiful old Victorian market building, absolutely dripping with history. It’s a treasure trove of quirky trinkets, local crafts and delectable treats. I felt like I’d stepped into a historical fairytale, all swirling silks, delicate china, and whispering stories of bygone days. They even had a stall selling hand-made tutus! Imagine that, they’d obviously got my pink-tutu vibes flowing! 😉

From the market, I wandered into the cobblestone streets, the air alive with the scent of roasted coffee beans and the cheerful chatter of people enjoying their weekend. The streets are bursting with cafes, restaurants and quirky little shops. I picked up the most adorable vintage ballet shoes, perfect for my upcoming dance routine. And just you wait till you see what I've got planned! It’s all top secret, but it involves a few sequins and maybe a little bit of sparkle 😉.

In the afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending the ‘Dancing Divas’ event at Stockport Plaza, a stunning theatre from the golden age of entertainment. I adore vintage theatre venues! There’s just so much atmosphere, it feels like the ghosts of the dancers from years past are swirling around you as you enter, and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind me taking centre stage for the afternoon! 😉

The performance was an absolute ballet masterpiece! They incorporated elements of classical ballet with modern, street style choreography - just my cup of tea! I couldn't help but tap my feet and marvel at the incredible athleticism of the dancers, it made me want to get straight into a tutu and take my own pirouettes!

I must say, a little piece of my heart fell for Stockport, a place brimming with history, creativity and charm! What could be better than exploring a beautiful town, whipped up in a cloud of pink tulle and sunshine?! If you’re planning your next trip, definitely consider adding Stockport to your list. You won't regret it, darling!

Just remember, if you find yourself exploring the town, don't be shy! Wave to me with a flourish – I’ll be looking out for you! Maybe even find yourself a pink tutu and join me in making the world a more colourful place! 💕🩰 After all, life is too short to be anything but glamorous and twirly!

Until next time, stay twirly and stay sparkly! ✨

Emma x
