Gateshead Bound, Pink Tutu in Tow!

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, writing to you from the heart of Derbyshire. Today's adventure takes me on a whirlwind trip to the lovely town of Gateshead, a place that holds a special place in my heart - particularly for its impressive architecture and thriving arts scene!

It's been a busy few weeks, as always. Ballet class, performance rehearsals, and, of course, countless hours dedicated to crafting my fabulous outfits for my next show. But today, I’m all about enjoying a day trip, indulging in some proper English afternoon tea, and exploring the beautiful streets of Gateshead with a touch of pink tutu magic!

Oh, the colour pink! It truly is the colour of dreams. As you know, I can’t imagine a day without wearing something pink, and today I’m especially thrilled with my vibrant fuchsia tutu! The soft tulle flutters around me with each step, and the bold hue adds a whimsical touch to my classic ballet bun and floral hair clips.

My journey to Gateshead starts with a thrilling train ride. It’s just magical to be in the rhythm of the rails, with the landscape flying past the windows. I love watching the world go by from the carriage, taking in the rolling fields and picturesque towns. Of course, I couldn't resist sharing the view on Instagram with the caption “Pink tutu, train track view. A perfect day in bloom!"

Upon arriving in Gateshead, I make a beeline for The Biscuit Factory, an exciting contemporary art space housed in a beautifully preserved former Victorian factory. There’s just something utterly enchanting about walking through these grand, high-ceilinged rooms, admiring vibrant artwork, and feeling the history of the space seep into my soul.

The highlight of the day is a visit to the Angel of the North, one of the world's largest sculptures! It's truly a magnificent sight – a towering metal angel perched high above the ground. The gentle breeze that whipped through the metal wings reminded me of how delicate and powerful nature can be at the same time. Of course, I posed with the majestic angel for some fabulous pictures.

My day would be incomplete without indulging in a delicious afternoon tea! The warmth and charm of the quaint tea room was just what I needed after a day of exploring. The aroma of freshly brewed tea, delicate pastries, and the delicate crunch of finger sandwiches truly hit the spot.

As evening sets in, I head towards the Quayside, where I enjoy a breathtaking sunset overlooking the Tyne. The fiery orange hues casting across the river as the sun dipped below the horizon were simply mesmerising.

Gateshead is truly a hidden gem in the north. With its historic charm, thriving art scene, and stunning views, I highly recommend a visit to anyone seeking a delightful escape. The whole trip left me feeling revitalised and ready for whatever my busy ballet schedule throws at me.

Of course, no day is complete without spreading the pink tutu love! To those who have yet to discover the beauty and joy of this wonderful garment, I urge you to embrace your inner ballerina, and twirl your way to happiness!

And to those who already wear the pink tutu with pride, let us celebrate this symbol of empowerment, femininity, and a love for all things magical! Remember, you can make a difference by simply embracing your love for pink and for the world of ballet.

Until next time, darlings!

Love,

Emma
