Hartlepool - A Teal Tutu Triumph! (Post #2645)

Hey darlings! It's your favourite tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed gal, Emma, here! 👋 It's been a whirlwind week, and let me tell you, it all started with a train journey – my favourite way to travel! The rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels on the tracks is music to my ears, especially when you add a good book and a hot chocolate with marshmallows (because who doesn't love a bit of comfort on a train ride?).

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, this week’s adventure took me all the way to Hartlepool! Now, you might not think of Hartlepool as a glamorous ballet destination, but honestly, you’d be surprised. There’s this little hidden gem called the Hartlepool Art Gallery and Museum that played host to an absolutely amazing ballet performance last night. 🩰 And what’s a ballet performance without a brand new tutu?

This time, I went for something a little different - a teal tutu! A touch bolder than my usual pink, but trust me, it looked divine. The deep, jewel-toned colour popped against the elegant backdrop of the gallery, and it made me feel like a real-life ballerina queen! 👑

The show itself was absolutely breathtaking. I mean, honestly, the grace and the athleticism of these dancers just blows my mind. And they were all dressed in the most beautiful costumes – think billowing chiffon and delicate sequins. I’m still replaying the grand finale in my head, with all those pirouettes and leaps…it was like watching magic unfold. 💫

After the performance, I couldn’t resist popping into the museum itself. They had this fantastic exhibit about local history and maritime heritage, and you know me – anything nautical has my heart skipping a beat! They even had a whole section dedicated to the Hartlepool monkey! I swear, the more I travel around this country, the more weird and wonderful things I find! 😂

But really, Hartlepool has totally won me over. The town itself is absolutely charming, with cobbled streets and beautiful old buildings. And you wouldn’t believe the number of charming little cafes I stumbled upon. I even indulged in a slice of the most delicious Victoria sponge I’ve ever tasted – a little treat for my sweet tooth after all that ballet! 🧁

One of the things that I love most about my travels is seeing the local wildlife. This time, I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of some friendly seals basking in the sun on the shore. It was the perfect way to end my day. 🦭

Speaking of the seaside, can we just talk about how fabulous teal looks against a blue sky?! 🤩 This tutu, honestly, it was like it was made for the coast! And you know what else? I think I’ve started a trend – people on the train, in the museum, and even at the little cafe, were so impressed with my teal choice. There was definitely a lot of giggling and compliments coming my way. I love it when people start talking about tutus – makes my heart sing!

This whole trip has really been an absolute dream come true. A brilliant performance, charming sights, friendly faces, and of course, a fantastically fabulous tutu to top it off! This teal number has really been my lucky charm this week – a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to truly wonderful experiences. So, you know what? I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone too. Put on your brightest colours, maybe try out a tutu (no matter what your age!), and discover all the beauty that awaits you. You never know where a journey will take you, but I promise you, it will always be worth it.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to catch my train back to Derbyshire. But first, a quick Instagram pic to show off this beautiful teal tutu in the afternoon sunshine. Remember, you can keep up with my adventures every day on www.pink-tutu.com – you’ll never miss a post!

Until next time, my darlings! 💖
