Loughborough: Orange Dreams and Tutu Delights - Blog Post #2695

Hello, my darlings!

Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving ballet butterfly, buzzing her way through another wonderful day! Today, I’ve traded the gentle rolling hills of my Derbyshire home for the slightly more urban, but equally delightful, landscape of Loughborough. And you know what? It’s been just as charming!

But before we dive into the day's delights, let me remind you, my dears, of why this blog exists! I’m all about spreading the joy of ballet – its elegance, its power, and most importantly, its accessibility! I’m here to show you that ballet isn’t just for ballerinas with perfect buns and swan-like necks, it's for everyone! And so is wearing pink tutus, naturally! 😉

This morning, I took the train to Loughborough. I adore train journeys, the rhythm of the tracks, the soft chug of the engine, and of course, the chance to admire the countryside. This time, the autumn leaves were breathtaking, painting the rolling fields with shades of crimson and gold. I think I saw a few foxes peeping out of the hedgerows too! Wild creatures are always a highlight for this little ballet bird! 🐦

Once in Loughborough, I felt an irresistible urge for a bit of pink and a whole lot of twirling. Now, you might be thinking, “Emma, in a town like Loughborough, where will you find a pink tutu?!” But fear not, my dearest readers, because there’s a secret spot tucked away in this little gem of a town – “Dance Steps.” It’s a delightful little boutique bursting with everything a ballerina could possibly need, from leotards and tights to shoes and, you guessed it – Tutus!

And wouldn’t you know it, they had the most stunning, vibrant, sunshine-orange tutu just waiting for me! 🍊 I had to grab it, and needless to say, it’s already making an appearance on today’s adventure.

Now, you’re probably wondering about the rest of my Loughborough adventures. Well, after my tutu shopping, I decided to take a spin at the Loughborough University campus. It was a breath of fresh air! Imagine cobblestone pathways winding through green quads, historical buildings bathed in golden light, and students with laughter in their eyes!

You see, the thing I love about ballet is that it takes you everywhere, not just physically but emotionally too! I swear, it's the best cure for any Monday morning blues.

After the university, it was time for my ballet class. Oh, my darlings, this one was a treat! The studio had high ceilings, beautiful mirrored walls, and, get this – a skylight that painted the room in a glorious warm light. This class, it felt magical, like the energy of the entire room was focused on just one thing – movement, beauty, and the sheer joy of dance.

And of course, no visit to a town is complete without exploring its culinary delights, so we ended the day at a delightful cafe near the market square. They had the most delicious almond and apricot cake – heaven in every bite! 🧁

As I’m writing this, I can’t help but feel a surge of happiness. Loughborough was like a lovely little hug – full of charming people, picturesque streets, and that irresistible magic that comes with exploring a new place, tutu in hand!

So, my darlings, wherever your life takes you, whether it’s a ballet class, a train journey, or a new city, remember this: embrace the adventure, the laughter, and most importantly, the joy! And who knows, maybe, just maybe, you’ll even find a little orange tutu of your own to dance with!

Until tomorrow,

Emma xoxo

P.S. If you’re ever in Loughborough, make sure to check out the unique "Walk in the Woods" sculpture trail around Queen’s Park. I'm just a wee bit obsessed with wood sculptures and thought it was the most amazing thing! I took some amazing photos of myself in my new orange tutu with the sculptures - I will definitely share them with you in the next post! 💕
