Ashton - Post #2734: A Tutu Adventure & A Pink Pony

Hello, my lovely Tutu-istas! Emma here, fresh from a delightful day trip to Ashton. Today, we’re not talking about ballet. Nope! Today, we’re exploring the joy of life in all its delightful pink-hued glory.

Now, I’m a big fan of tutus, as you know. But sometimes, it’s lovely to ditch the frills and just enjoy a little everyday adventure. That’s where today’s story comes in.

Imagine: rolling hills, a gentle breeze carrying the scent of honeysuckle, and a splash of pink against the emerald green countryside. That was the view greeting me as I arrived in Ashton this morning. My usual method of travel? You guessed it – train, of course! I love the romance of a train journey – it gives me time to daydream, enjoy the scenery, and maybe even finish a chapter in my favourite novel. (I’m currently obsessed with "Jane Eyre" – anyone else?).

A walk through Ashton’s quaint little streets led me to a small stables just a short distance from the bustling town centre. They had a few beautiful ponies, and amongst them, a particularly charming one, a stunning mare with a pink stripe on her forehead. Can you imagine? Just like a ballerina with a beautiful ribbon! She was so sweet, we ended up just chilling and cuddling in the field. Her coat was the perfect shade of rosy-pink, matching my latest ballet shoes, naturally!

Speaking of ballet shoes, I have been completely captivated by the wonderful Ballet Theatre nearby. I was so excited to watch their performance last night, showcasing a delightful mix of classical ballet and contemporary dance. The choreography was stunning – intricate footwork, beautiful “en pointes”, and elegant hand gestures that seemed to paint the air with tales of romance and heartache.

But let's not forget the true heart of ballet: the movement. The grace and athleticism, the power and artistry. Each twirl, each leap, each arabesque is a beautiful story told through movement. I left the theatre feeling inspired and ready to step into the studio for my own practice session. You know me, I’m never truly satisfied unless I’m at the barre.

Later, I discovered a charming little cafe tucked away in a backstreet, filled with vintage charm and a delightful afternoon tea. My heart skipped a beat when I spotted the prettiest, pinkest cup and saucer – it even had a delicate flower pattern on it, perfect for a graceful little ballerina like myself!

You know what I always say, "a day isn't complete until it involves a touch of pink!"

Ashton was a beautiful surprise, offering a gentle reminder that beauty exists even beyond the world of ballet. So here’s to finding pink moments everywhere we go, to twirling around the streets, to watching magical dances, and of course, to keeping that “en pointes” attitude about life!

Now, go and wear your pink tutus – you know I want to see those gorgeous pictures on Instagram! Don’t forget to tag #PinkTutuLife!

Until next time, Emma xx
