Ramsgate: A Tutu-tastic Time by the Sea! (Post #2752)

Hello darlings!

It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving ballerina, back from another glorious adventure. This time, I traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the salty breezes of Ramsgate, a seaside town in Kent that's practically whispering 'ballet by the beach'. I just can't resist a bit of sea air, you know?

And as I've been saying for ages, a ballerina is never truly complete without a fabulous tutu, so I decided to bring my latest creation along: a dazzling pink Italian masterpiece that shimmers like the waves themselves! Imagine it – flowing silk, soft tulle, and an intricate embroidery of tiny sea shells. A little touch of glamour amidst the seaside charm, if I do say so myself.

I took a lovely train ride down to Ramsgate. I just love that chugging, clickety-clack sound of the train wheels and the peaceful view of the passing countryside. It's such a serene and romantic way to travel, don't you think? I imagine it's just as romantic as travelling by horseback - although, admittedly, it would take me much longer to get around! I would have been tempted to stop at a quaint English pub for some lovely traditional fare. The smells alone would have been worth it! I have a deep affection for everything countryside! I have to admit though, I would never choose to travel by plane! Too noisy and uncomfortable. And just not glamorous enough for a tutu-wearing ballerina.

As soon as I arrived, I was swept away by Ramsgate's quaint charm. It’s one of those little towns where time seems to move a little slower, which is a wonderful change from the busy city life. Cobbled streets, charming shops, and those sweet little cafes with wicker chairs and blooming geraniums in window boxes just stole my heart. There were also so many beautiful houses that looked right out of a storybook with lovely gardens and little seagulls flapping about – truly the most picturesque place to be!

But it wouldn't be a trip to the seaside without a good old-fashioned walk on the beach, would it? My tutu made quite the impression on the sand! You’ve never seen such bewildered smiles and raised eyebrows, let me tell you. All eyes were on my lovely tulle skirt – just like it should be! I just love watching those beach dogs dash about, with their floppy ears and joyful little yips. And let's not forget the seagulls! There was a big old grey one that I kept eyeing – maybe even a friendly stare in our direction? I was practically tempted to give him a piece of my freshly-baked pink-tutu cake that I had brought along.

Then, the real magic started to happen. I went for a wonderful ballet lesson at the local studio - the sunshine poured through the windows as I stretched my muscles and perfected my pirouettes. I had a real connection with the teacher, who also used to dance when she was younger! And of course, I can never miss a chance to enjoy a little ballet theatre performance! And boy, was it breathtaking. A classical ballet at the Ramsgate Royal, a beautiful historic building! With every twirl and leap, I felt the joy of ballet ignite within me – the passion, the grace, the absolute bliss of being enveloped in that world.

I didn't have any grand plans for my trip – just to relax, soak up the seaside atmosphere, and enjoy myself, which is exactly what I did! Ramsgate really stole my heart with its quaint charm and delightful coastal beauty. It truly is the perfect place to escape the city buzz, dance your worries away, and feel your inner ballerina truly flourish.

Before I leave you to enjoy the sunshine, here's my little piece of pink-tutu wisdom for today:

Don't be afraid to be a little different, to let your true colours shine, and to spread joy wherever you go, especially when you're wearing a gorgeous tutu, even on the beach.

And you know what, maybe that seagull really liked my tutu!

Until next time,
Emma www.pink-tutu.com
