Hitchin Hooray! 🩰💖

Hello my darlings!

It's Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, adventure-seeking blogger, bringing you all the latest from my fabulously fashionable life!

Today, I'm writing from the charming little town of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, and let me tell you, this place is divine! Just picture cobbled streets, quaint little shops bursting with colourful treats, and an atmosphere that feels like stepping into a storybook.

Now, how did I get here you ask? Well, as usual, I embraced the adventure. This morning, I hopped on a beautiful, vintage-looking steam train at St Pancras Station. It was the perfect start to a perfectly pink day! The whistle blew, and off we chugged, gliding past countryside scenery, all the way to Hitchin. Such a dreamy journey!

A Hitchin Hoot

Hitchin was a whirlwind of colour and delightful discoveries. First, I visited the local tea shop, The Tea House. They served the most scrumptious cakes and, naturally, I had to try their "Pink Rose Petal Cake." It was heavenly! Imagine, layers of light and fluffy sponge, layered with pink rose buttercream and edible rose petals - a delicate masterpiece!

But wait, there's more! Hitchin is a haven for art lovers too! The Hitchin Museum and Art Gallery is tucked away in a beautifully restored 18th-century manor house. The art collection was a breath of fresh air - whimsical landscapes, thought-provoking sculptures, and captivating portrait paintings. They had a collection of vintage, bright pink pottery which I just adored.

Ballet Inspiration

My main reason for venturing to Hitchin was for something extra special - a ballet performance! The Hitchin Ballet School put on a dazzling performance of Swan Lake at the Hitchin Town Hall, a truly stunning space with incredible acoustics.

As soon as the music started, I felt the familiar tug on my heartstrings - the elegance, the passion, the story unfolding before me in a mesmerizing ballet. The choreography was divine, the costumes spectacular (of course, I particularly loved the ones with pink accents!) I felt so incredibly inspired by the dedication and talent of these young dancers. It was truly a highlight of my trip.

A Little Bit of Wildlife

No trip to Hitchin is complete without a stroll through its beautiful parks. I visited Hitchin Priory with its picturesque gardens and grand mansion, It was like a secret little oasis in the bustling town.

While I was enjoying the serenity, a mischievous squirrel peeked out from behind a tree! It scampered up the branch with an agility I couldn't help but admire. Nature always brings such a sense of wonder!

Sharing the Love

As I’ve mentioned before, my life’s mission is to encourage everyone to wear pink tutus and to try ballet. Why? Because tutus make you feel powerful, strong, and absolutely fabulous!

And believe me, there's nothing quite like a ballet class to awaken your inner graceful goddess. You get to twirl, leap, and express yourself in a way that’s both liberating and exhilarating.

A Pink Tutu-ful Journey

So, as I sit here sipping on a delicious raspberry lemonade (a little nod to pink, naturally!) I can’t help but reflect on the magic of this day. It’s a perfect example of how even the smallest of journeys can be full of surprises, inspiration, and joy.

Hitchin, you were an absolute delight! Thank you for showing me your charm, your beauty, and your unwavering commitment to the arts.

Until next time, my lovelies!

Remember, it’s never too late to embrace the magic of pink tutus and ballet. And as always, I'd love to hear all about your adventures! Leave me a comment below, and share your pink tutu moments with the world!

With love and sparkle, Emma
