#TutuBlog: London Calling! (Post #2801)

Oh, hello lovelies! Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the big smoke – London town, no less! I swear, this city never fails to amaze me. There's just something magical about its energy, its history, and oh, those stunning buildings. They really do look like they're straight out of a fairytale. ✨

Speaking of fairytale, I had the most extraordinary experience this past weekend. I actually saw a ballet performance that I'd been dreaming about for months! It was the Royal Ballet’s production of 'The Sleeping Beauty' and let me tell you, it was pure magic. The costumes were out of this world – seriously, the detail and craftsmanship was mind-blowing. There was this beautiful pink tutu, it just floated around her as she danced... I was captivated, just like the entire audience. I swear I could practically hear a pin drop in the entire theatre.

And the dancing! Those ballerinas moved like birds, graceful and strong, spinning through the air with an incredible fluidity that had me gasping in awe. The way their tutus swirled and billowed as they moved - absolutely stunning! If it wasn't for the fact that I was halfway through a pink choux pastry, I probably would have cried happy tears. (Pink choux pastries – a perfect pairing for ballet, don't you think?)

But before we get all choked up over 'Sleeping Beauty', let's talk about how I got to London. This time, I traded the familiar comfort of my horse, Clover, for the equally captivating world of trains! You see, this weekend's adventures called for a bit of glamorous travel. There's something so wonderfully luxurious about hurtling through the countryside in a train carriage, the rhythm of the wheels a soothing lullaby against the backdrop of passing scenery.

I couldn't resist squeezing in a spot of sightseeing before the performance, of course. We can't talk about London without mentioning Hyde Park. That's the ultimate city park, don't you agree? I practically went giddy just thinking about wandering around those pretty flower beds and breathing in that crisp, London air. Even better? I met this sweet family enjoying a picnic and got them to try on a pink tutu I'd brought with me. Their kids were so cute and absolutely delighted. You know me - always spreading the tutu love!

The journey back home was just as delightful. After all that pink tutu inspired loveliness, I was craving some serenity. The moon was out in full glory, painting the countryside with a silver glow as I gazed out the window.

It was hard to believe I was already back in Derbyshire! It was like I had just landed in another world. As always, it felt good to be home, though, and to feel the familiar warmth of Clover’s soft, velvety nose nuzzling into my hand as I walked her through the stable door.

My head is still buzzing with images of twirling tutus and sparkling stage lights. Now, it’s time to catch up on emails and get organised for the week ahead. Oh, and don’t forget to check out my blog later today for photos from my London escapade! (You know I’ve got a whole gallery of pictures, and plenty of pink tutu moments to share! 😉)

Till next time, darlings.

With love and tutus,

Emma
