Hanwell Highlights: A Tutu-tastic Trip to West London!

Hey loves! It's Emma here, back from another fabulously tutu-filled adventure! Today's journey took me to the delightful village of Hanwell, a hidden gem tucked away in West London. Now, I'm all about a good city escape, and this place delivered on charm, history, and yes, you guessed it – the perfect excuse to twirl in my new cyan tutu!

As a Derbyshirian girl at heart, I love exploring new places, especially when I can take the train. It’s such a romantic and beautiful way to travel, watching the world fly past. Of course, a trip wouldn't be complete without a cheeky equestrian detour. Imagine, galloping through the countryside with the wind in your hair, feeling absolutely free in a fabulous pink tutu – pure magic, I tell you!

Anyway, Hanwell… what a find! I parked myself at the historic St. Mary's Church, which was surprisingly filled with a gorgeous garden, absolutely buzzing with life. I must have spent an hour in that peaceful haven, feeling inspired and completely enchanted. Imagine how many secrets those old walls have seen! And can we talk about the beauty of old churches? All that ornate detail, the soft light filtering through stained glass – just heavenly!

My first stop was The Corner Cafe, nestled on Hanwell's high street. This little gem instantly stole my heart. Not just for their delectable carrot cake (absolutely heavenly, and oh-so-pink!) but also for its character. The warm atmosphere, friendly chatter, and those amazing old picture frames on the wall filled with charming old photos just radiated nostalgia. They had a huge window right onto the street, which felt absolutely magical. I could have stayed there for hours, soaking in the atmosphere, sipping on a delicious Earl Grey, and planning the next step of my day!

Speaking of plans, a little birdie (okay, maybe a charming local who knew I loved the colour pink and adored tutus) pointed me towards Hanwell's local charity shop, aptly named The Old Curiosity Shop. I'm not going to lie, I almost squealed with delight when I saw it! A treasure trove of vintage delights, complete with a vintage pink velvet chair! You'll have to wait for the picture for that, it's going straight onto my Insta!

Next up? Well, no trip to Hanwell would be complete without a visit to Hanwell's stunning Manor House! A grand, historical building with breathtaking grounds, just the type of place that sends my imagination into overdrive. I could just picture myself, in my full-length, blush-coloured tutu, twirling on the manicured lawns – chef’s kiss – absolutely exquisite. I imagine it must have been a glorious place to be in its heyday.

Before heading home, I did something incredibly adventurous - I finally tried my hand at a new hobby! Well, not quite, but a kind local shared some fascinating insights about wildlife! I'm totally obsessed with animals, you guys. From the mighty lion to the tiniest butterfly, there's just something so wondrous about them. Hanwell even has its own nature reserve - the amazing Boston Manor Park - and a hidden oasis right there!

And for the grand finale of this enchanting trip? Well, the day wasn't complete until I treated myself to the most amazing handmade cupcake in Hanwell. And let me tell you, I couldn’t resist indulging in a delicate raspberry and pink frosting creation – my love of all things pink knows no bounds!

Overall, my trip to Hanwell was a truly delightful experience. It's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of London life, filled with history, charm, and all sorts of delightful details.

You guys know what that means, right? A new Hanwell-inspired outfit, naturally! Let's be honest, pink is pretty much the most universally flattering colour on anyone. It just exudes joy, confidence, and magic!

If you ever need a little dose of happiness and inspiration, I highly recommend taking a trip to Hanwell. I promise, you'll find plenty to inspire you, and maybe even encourage you to rock a tutu yourself!
