Bournemouth Calling! #TutuBlog 2863

Hello my gorgeous Tutu Tribe! 🩰💖

It’s Emma here, signing in from the sunny shores of Bournemouth! Can you believe it’s already May?! This year is absolutely flying by.

Anyway, I’m not here just for the sunshine and sea (although they are pretty wonderful!), I’m here for some serious ballet bliss! I’m going to watch "Swan Lake" at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre tonight - I can practically feel the magic in the air! And, let me tell you, the costumes for the swans are to die for, they are pure white with just a little sprinkle of shimmering crystals, I swear they looked like a snowstorm caught in tulle and feathers when I saw them online!

Tutu Tales - A Pink Princess Story

Before we get to the main event (ballet, of course!), let's chat about the journey here. You know I can’t resist a good train journey, especially when the scenery is as glorious as the South Coast! I love looking out the window, watching the world roll by - so much prettier than those cramped little airline seats, am I right? 😉

And this time, my journey wasn’t just about the pretty countryside; it was about finding the perfect tutu. You see, it wouldn't do to be at Bournemouth Pavilion, the stage lit with the glow of the show, and be in anything less than fabulous!

So, imagine this: a quaint little shop nestled on a charming cobbled street. As I pushed the door open, it felt like stepping back in time. The air was heavy with the sweet scent of dusty old books and lavender. My eyes, they landed upon her. My pink princess dream come true. A delicate wisp of a tutu, in a shade of pink so perfect it made my heart flutter.

Oh, darling, you should have seen this beauty. I won’t bore you with all the details, but let me just say it had a touch of vintage charm, with its cascading layers of tulle, soft enough to feel like a whisper against my skin, and this adorable tiny pink bow that just peeked out from underneath the fabric like a hidden secret. The shopkeeper was a darling, with her grey hair tied in a neat bun and the sweetest smile you ever saw, she said "That tutu's just waiting for a real ballerina to wear it." And you know what? I think she was right.

From the River to the Stage

Speaking of "waiting," remember my sweet rescue from the other day? The tiny deer trapped in the River Derwent? Well, thankfully she was all right and returned to her family, bouncing away as lively as can be.

A friend shared a photo of her yesterday, all playful and curious. Such a wonderful feeling to know I helped her find her way home. It really made me think about the fragility of life, and how we’re all connected, like a beautiful ballet - each movement matters, each step influencing the flow of the dance.

Let's Get Dancing!

Oh, and I have some really exciting news that I'm going to announce next week, my darlings! Get ready for some magical happenings on the blog and a sprinkle of even more tutu-tastic adventures!

In the meantime, I have a performance to get to! Catch me back here soon. Until then, don’t forget to get your tutu on, put your best ballerina foot forward, and keep dancing your dreams! 💖

Lots of love,

Emma x
