Saint Albans: Tutus, Trains and Tea

Oh my darlings, I am absolutely buzzing! Today has been a whirlwind of tulle, trains and tea, and all in the most gorgeous little city of Saint Albans! If you've never been, you have to add it to your travel bucket list!

You see, it started off with a most splendid trip on the train this morning. As any good ballerina knows, trains are the epitome of chic and stylish travel, so it wouldn't be a true Emma-esque journey without some fabulous pink! My trusty travel companion, a blush pink handbag full of tutus and ballet shoes, was ready for anything!

I was en route to a delightful workshop at the fabulous Dance Studios of Saint Albans. It's just the sort of place that takes my breath away – beautiful light streaming through the windows, stunning polished floors, and walls plastered with gorgeous posters of my favourite dancers. Can you imagine the feeling?!

As soon as I walked in, I felt an electric excitement – it's those special places where your imagination takes flight! There was a whole bunch of gorgeous dancers ready to learn all about how to dance, dress, and move like a true ballerina! We worked on some intricate steps, the kind that leave you feeling absolutely breathless – it’s so lovely to work with a group of fellow dance enthusiasts. We all have such a love for our art and it’s wonderful to be surrounded by that energy.

After all that hard work, I was completely famished! Luckily, my afternoon was punctuated with a simply divine afternoon tea at a charming little café called The Tea Rooms of Saint Albans. Honestly, I haven't felt this happy since my birthday – everything about it felt like something from a Jane Austen novel!

I can't talk about St. Albans without mentioning the stunning Roman ruins! Now, imagine this – picture yourself wearing a vibrant, ruffled pink tutu, dancing through the historic remains. It's an absolute dream! If I'm not careful, I'll be whisked back in time, swirling among the ancient stones and forgetting where I am!

Of course, no visit to a charming English town is complete without a stroll down the quaint streets, where you can indulge in a bit of window shopping. Let me tell you, those vintage shops are an absolute haven for any aspiring ballerina! They've got the most divine tutus, delicate ballet shoes and even a few gorgeous antique silk ribbons that I just had to take home with me! They are going to make the perfect additions to my collection!

I've been having some exciting conversations about the impact of ballet in modern society lately and that led me to have a long chat with a lovely local artist today. She’s an amazing potter with a wonderful studio overflowing with vibrant colours and textured clays – the perfect place to let my imagination run wild! She was fascinated to hear all about my work with Pink Tutu – about how it’s all about breaking down barriers and encouraging everyone to express themselves through dance, whether it's ballet, modern or something totally unexpected!

She even took me through the steps of throwing a clay pot on the wheel! And guess what? My pink tutu inspired me to create something truly extraordinary – a magnificent pink, heart-shaped, swirling masterpiece that I’ll proudly display in my studio! This lovely woman reminded me of why Pink Tutu is so important! It's all about inspiring others, building community, and encouraging everyone to be a little bit bold, a little bit beautiful, and a little bit… Pink!

You know, every time I journey somewhere new, it opens my eyes to new things, to new adventures, to new connections! And Saint Albans has really delivered on every count. So, darling, do yourself a favor and take a train journey to Saint Albans! Take a spin in those beautiful ruins! Get your hands on some pottery! You’ll thank me later!

And of course, never forget to wear a pink tutu! It's all about a little sprinkle of joy, a touch of magic and a whole lot of heart. See you soon!

Love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
