Burton Upon Trent - A Purple Tutu Adventure!

Post number: 2924

Hello, darlings! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Burton upon Trent! And I have to tell you, it was utterly delightful! I'm not gonna lie, a bit of a departure from my usual London scene, but I love getting out and exploring, and there's no better way to travel than by train! You just can't beat the rhythmic click-clack, watching the countryside zip past. Makes me want to leap out of the window and twirl amongst the wildflowers, especially in a pretty pink tutu!

Speaking of tutus, I know some of you might think it’s a bit out there to rock a purple tutu in a place like Burton upon Trent, but I'm a firm believer that life's too short to be dull, and tutus just bring joy. Honestly, the sheer number of compliments I received in my purple confection was unbelievable! I must have brought a little bit of sunshine to Burton, if only in the form of bright fuchsia sequins!

This adventure wasn't just about tutus and travel, though. I managed to squeeze in a little culture too. Did you know Burton upon Trent has its very own theatre, the Brewhouse? They were performing a fabulous production of 'Twelfth Night' – Shakespeare, darling, just imagine! I felt right at home among the Bard’s words. Even if I had to watch with my pink sparkly shoes off, because that's what they called for at the entrance! Oh, but don’t worry, I always carry my trusty ballet shoes with me, just in case the mood strikes me! And let me tell you, I had a hankering to tap my little toes to some Shakespearean prose!

I was surprised by how lively Burton actually is! Imagine, cobbled streets filled with quaint shops, all full of trinkets and teacups – perfect for an afternoon tea with the girls. The smell of hops hung heavy in the air, which makes sense, given the town’s famous brewing history. It's one of those places that makes you feel you've stepped into a storybook, which of course, is right up my alley.

Naturally, I had to indulge in some proper English delicacies – a spot of tea, some scrumptious homemade cake, and a scone, with lashings of jam and clotted cream, of course. It’s practically illegal to go to Britain and NOT have tea! It’s just a law, darling! Speaking of treats, you wouldn’t believe how many adorable shops I discovered filled with adorable fluffy, floppy bunnies. Seriously! My heart was so full, and my camera had a field day with all the cute furry creatures. Not even a little ballerina can resist bunny ears!

But I can’t just come to Burton upon Trent without talking about its wildlife. We went on a leisurely walk alongside the River Trent, and it was simply breathtaking. So serene, you could feel your stress melt away, darling! It's amazing how nature just has that effect! The green fields, the swans gliding gracefully along the water… I saw a family of deer – they really did remind me of graceful ballerinas, too! And let's not forget the cheeky squirrels darting through the trees - oh, those cute bushy tails! If you can’t do ballet, just be a little squirrel – it’s nearly the same, really.

You know, as I’m reflecting on this whole Burton upon Trent adventure, I’m realizing that it truly was just that - an adventure. You never know what you might find when you step outside your comfort zone and embrace the unexpected. You know my motto is ‘try everything at least once.’ And trust me, darlings, the joy of rocking a purple tutu in Burton upon Trent is definitely worth it!

But as always, my main goal in life is to encourage everyone to wear a pink tutu! Honestly, there’s just something magical about a pink tutu. The colour alone can brighten up any dreary day, just like my latest blog post. And when you’re dancing in a tutu, even a little hop and twirl is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. It’s really the simple things! So, come on, everyone, give it a go. You might surprise yourself! And while you’re at it, I urge you all to visit the enchanting Burton upon Trent! It’s an enchanting little town full of surprising discoveries!

Love,

Emma
