TutuBlog Post #2954: Barking with a Yellow Tutu!

Oh my darlings, it's been a whirlwind of a week! My little heart is practically bursting with excitement to share all the loveliness with you. And where else to begin, but with my latest Tutu-tastic adventure?

This past Monday saw me rocking up at the glorious Grand Theatre in Leeds, where the fabulous, the amazing, the utterly divine Northern Ballet were showcasing their new production of "Swan Lake". It was utterly spellbinding! I swear, there were moments where I could have sworn the dancers were literally floating across the stage. You all know my penchant for swans - grace, poise, beauty, they are the epitome of feminine elegance! I found myself quite moved by the story, you know? The heartbreak, the betrayal, the love - I nearly shed a tear! Luckily, I had my emergency pink tissue packet at hand, and nobody was the wiser 😉.

Now, I did promise to share a little about my trip to Yorkshire, and I have to say, it was truly enchanting. I took the train up from Derbyshire, you see, and as I looked out of the window, I couldn't help but feel inspired by the green rolling hills, the charming villages, and the ancient castles that dotted the landscape. And can we talk about the tea?! Yorkshire tea is absolutely divine! So strong, so aromatic, so perfectly British. It felt like I had stepped into one of those Jane Austen novels I love so much.

I even found time to visit York Minster, with its beautiful stained glass windows and awe-inspiring architecture. It was so tranquil and peaceful - a stark contrast to the energy of the city streets. Speaking of energy, York is quite the bustling place, bursting with independent boutiques and cute cafes. It reminded me so much of Notting Hill! And I just had to indulge in some afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream. I couldn't leave without experiencing that delightful ritual!

The following day, I hopped aboard a carriage drawn by four magnificent horses and took a delightful ride through the Yorkshire Dales. Oh, my dears, the scenery was breathtaking! Fields of wild purple heather, sheep grazing lazily in sunlit pastures, and towering cliffs against a backdrop of a clear blue sky. It truly was magical.

Then, it was time to make my way back home to Derbyshire, and you know, the journey back was almost as inspiring as the trip itself. The landscape unfolded in different shades of green and gold as the sun began to set. It reminded me of the opening scene from a movie. Or a fairytale, really. And with the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, and the feeling of pure joy in my heart, I found myself feeling incredibly grateful for this beautiful life.

I mean, can you believe it? Here I am, doing exactly what I love. Sharing my passion for all things pink and tutu-esque, exploring this amazing world, and encouraging everyone to find their own inner ballerina. Every day brings something new, something wonderful, something absolutely enchanting. And that, my lovelies, is the beauty of life.

And I simply cannot finish without sharing the delightful moment from my week that truly tickled me pink.

You know that charming cafe near my flat where I always grab my latte? The one with the delicious lemon poppyseed cakes and the incredibly sweet waitress, who I'm quite certain has a hidden pink tutu in her drawer somewhere? Well, this week, I had an encounter with a man who, with a wink and a playful smile, declared: “I always feel like wearing a pink tutu after I see you go by!"

Now, wouldn’t that be a sight to behold? Me in a tutu, and him… well, he’d need some tutu training first, but I’d happily be the one to instruct him! And imagine, all of London decked out in tutus, dancing through the streets, spreading a wave of joyous energy and vibrant colours! Wouldn't that be something?

So, keep spreading the pink love, darlings. Put on your favourite tutu and dance, sing, laugh, and most importantly, live every single moment to the fullest.

Much love and many twirls,

Emma xoxo
