Morden Magic in Pink! 🩰✨

Good morning, my darlings! It’s a glorious day here in Derbyshire, the sun’s shining and the birds are singing, and me? I'm feeling so very pink! That’s because today, I’m heading to Morden, a charming little town that’s bursting with ballet goodness. Yes, you heard me right, my loves, a whole day dedicated to tutus, turns, and all things twirly!

Now, you all know I adore the magic of ballet, and this little jaunt was all thanks to a message from my dear friend Lily, who lives down this way. She mentioned a new ballet studio opening in the heart of Morden, and naturally, my love of the dance just had to take me there. It wasn't just the new studio, though. The train journey itself was an adventure! As I sat on the train, gazing at the countryside zipping by, I couldn't resist pulling out my travel journal and jotting down all my ideas for my upcoming "Pink Tutu Week" event.

As you know, I'm always looking for fun ways to spread the joy of dance. This week, I'm going to challenge everyone to embrace the "pink" and the "tutu" – whether it's a bright pink ballet skirt at work, a flash of pink lipstick for a casual evening, or maybe even a proper tutu under your outfit! It’s all about spreading positivity and fun, and there’s no better way to do it than with a touch of pink and a dash of twirl!

Now, back to my Morden escapade. The train journey took about two hours, and I spent most of the time catching up on emails, watching the clouds drift by, and indulging in my favourite travel companion: a pot of tea and a slice of Bakewell tart. What's a trip without a delicious treat, right? 😉

Reaching Morden, I was greeted with the most quaint town square – cobbled streets, charming cafes, and even a cute little wildlife sanctuary. Before I knew it, I was mesmerised by a pair of swans gliding on a pond nearby, their majestic grace a testament to the beauty that surrounds us. Nature has a way of inspiring us all, and I feel this connection most deeply when I’m wearing my favourite tutu.

Then, of course, came the highlight of my trip - the new ballet studio! The name is “The Twirling Swan” - how absolutely divine! Stepping through the door was like entering a world of magic. Imagine a beautifully lit studio, adorned with photos of dancers from around the globe, shimmering with every colour of the rainbow and a beautiful, crystal-clear, wooden floor… Yes, my darlings, I’m already booking my classes!

And just as I’m getting settled in, who do I see through the window, but the most enchanting creatures! It was a group of horses, trotting slowly by in their elegant harnesses, all chestnut coats glistening in the sunshine. It was an incredible sight. I just stood there, utterly captivated, for what seemed like ages. Those magnificent animals really added to the special atmosphere.

The first thing I did was introduce myself to the studio owner, a woman named Anya. She has such passion and grace, and we hit it off instantly, both united by a love of dance and pink, naturally. Anya introduced me to her team of dedicated teachers, all full of energy and enthusiasm, and we chatted for ages about ballet, new routines, and our mutual love of the stage.

After exploring the studio and admiring the amazing set-up (think comfy relaxation corners, spacious changing rooms with amazing lockers, and even a "tea and tutu" corner!), I spent a glorious hour watching one of the beginner’s classes. The little ones were just darling! All so graceful and enthusiastic. Anya herself was teaching the class, her energy truly infectious. Honestly, watching their happy little faces filled my heart with joy and reminded me just how much magic there is in dance.

I was mesmerized by their eager little faces, as they twirled, leapt, and stretched their tiny bodies to perfection. Oh, how I yearned to join them, my darling friends. It truly reignited that inner child of mine. But alas, I have my own performances to practice for, but watching those little ballerinas filled my heart with such pure happiness that I actually had a tear in my eye!

As evening drew in, I wandered through the local market and indulged in some truly decadent street food - imagine the most divine cheese and pickle toastie ever, and the tastiest hot chocolate served with marshmallows that melt into creamy, dreamland perfection!

Then, I treated myself to a lovely little dinner in one of Morden's most delightful cafes. I even tried something called “ballet cheesecake,” and oh, my darlings, it was an absolute symphony of flavours. I even indulged in a cup of herbal tea (lavender and chamomile – perfect for calming those pre-performance nerves, don't you agree?)

After dinner, I spent some time journaling about my day in my pretty pink notebook. I write every day - it's just something I've always done, whether it's on a train journey or after a special class, it allows me to truly appreciate my journey, capture the beauty and magic of everyday moments, and to inspire all my lovely followers who, like me, see the world through rose-tinted lenses!

Leaving Morden was bittersweet - but with a heart full of happy memories, and even a bag filled with delicious local fudge (my guilty pleasure!), I felt incredibly lucky to have visited such a wonderful place, filled with the charm of a small town and a huge heart for ballet. The trip has made me even more determined to share my passion for pink tutus, to spread joy through dance, and to embrace all the beauty and inspiration that this world has to offer.

My darlings, what a truly incredible day. My head is filled with inspiration for my new classes - maybe "ballet tea and biscuits," or "ballet for butterflies” … Oh, the possibilities are endless! Stay tuned to pink-tutu.com for more exciting adventures and, of course, a pink-tastic week ahead!

Until tomorrow,

Emma 💖
