TutuBlog #3032: A Purple Adventure in Borehamwood

Hello, lovelies! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood ballerina-blogger, and I'm back from another delightful escapade - this time, I ventured to Borehamwood in a swirl of purple tulle.

Train Travel & Wildlife

The journey from Derbyshire was a pure delight. The train carriage had comfy seats, a warm glow, and the views were picture-perfect autumnal landscapes painted in vibrant orange and red. My trusty travel companion? You guessed it, my new purple tutu. It was an absolute dream - soft as a cloud and billowing with every sway of the carriage. (Think Audrey Hepburn in Charade, only more flamboyant!) I did even catch sight of a shy deer grazing beside the tracks. The wildlife here in the UK is truly something special!

Ballet Inspiration

I must say, Borehamwood is proving itself a treasure trove of ballet delights! First up was a show at the beautiful Elstree Studios. The costumes were fabulous, with more shimmer and sparkle than you can shake a thimble at. Iā€™m a sucker for a good, dramatic entrance, and the dramatic, sweeping skirts really did take the breath away. My little heart soared with every arabesque and pliĆ© ā€“ such grace and elegance!

After the show, it was straight to a class at the Elstree Ballet Studio. Now, I wouldn't say the class was entirely perfectā€¦ (the ballet teacher did have the unfortunate habit of forgetting to put the music on!), but there were some lovely moments of flow and fluidity, particularly during the barre work. I couldnā€™t help but imagine myself twirling around on stage in that very same tutuā€¦

A Pink Tutu Adventure in the Making

Of course, no visit to Borehamwood is complete without indulging in a spot of ballet street, right? Now, if you havenā€™t had the pleasure of ballet street, let me paint a picture for youā€¦ Imagine a bustling town square transformed into a haven for dancers and tutu-lovers. Everywhere you look, thereā€™s a tutu fluttering in the breeze!

There was even a rather delightful display of pink tutus ā€“ enough to make my inner ballerina do a double-take! The owners were lovely, and Iā€™ve got my eye on a particularly fetching pink number with sparkly diamantes. I have a feeling this might just be the starting point for a whole new ā€œpink tutuā€ adventureā€¦

Spread the Ballet Love

Honestly, the passion for ballet in Borehamwood is contagious. Even the locals I spoke to were buzzing about the upcoming performances. My heart swells with pride to witness such a thriving ballet scene, and Iā€™m so happy to be a part of it, even if it was just for a weekend! It just reminds me again of why I started this little pink-tutu venture of mine: to spread the joy of ballet far and wide, encouraging everyone to embrace their inner dancer!

I might even launch a "Wear Pink, Dance Free" campaign! Just imagine it ā€“ everyone in their finest pink tutus, twirling and pirouetting around the world! Itā€™s a little dream I'm determined to make a realityā€¦

And if Iā€™m lucky, maybe I can even get my own, personalised pink tutu made by the delightful Borehamwood craftswomen. Now that would be an exciting adventure indeed!

So, my darlings, until next timeā€¦ keep twirling, keep smiling, and don't be afraid to spread some ballet love!

Love always,

Emma
