Walkden Calling: A Tutu-tastic Adventure (Post #3034)

Hey lovelies! 👋 Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure! It’s been a crazy few days, filled with laughter, tutus (naturally!), and an unexpected journey that had me practically dancing in the streets!

I’m writing this from a charming little B&B in Walkden, a quaint town that's been absolutely enchanting. It’s a far cry from my usual Derbyshire haunts, but the charm of this place is definitely making me think about taking up residence in the North West.

Train Travels and Pink-tastic Encounters

I started my journey with a rather elegant train ride – don’t worry, I made sure my hot pink tutu wasn’t too much of a sight for sore eyes, but just enough to sprinkle some whimsy on the commute. The views were spectacular, reminding me of how lucky I am to be living in such a beautiful country.

The train ride ended at Manchester, and after a delightful quick pit-stop for afternoon tea (because one simply cannot go on a proper adventure without scones, right?), I decided to embrace the spirit of adventure and find my way to Walkden by horseback. Yes, you read that right – horseback! 🐎 It wasn’t just any ride though; I was whisked away on a guided tour by the most wonderful local stable owners, a pair of sweet old dears who even had matching pink scarves (no, I didn’t coordinate on purpose! I promise!).

A Walkden Waltz: Ballet, Beauty, and Wildlife

Walkden is positively charming! The cobbled streets, the quaint little shops, and the vibrant green spaces just filled me with joy. I practically floated through the streets, tutu swishing with every step. The highlight of the day? Stumbling upon the most wonderful dance school tucked away in a quiet corner.

I couldn't resist, obviously! I joined in with their contemporary ballet class and oh my goodness! The energy was incredible, and I swear I felt like a kid again. We laughed, we learned, and we pirouetted, all under the watchful eye of the lovely dance instructor – I can tell she’s an absolute legend!

Later, I had the most lovely dinner with my new friends – a real community feel, much like I’m used to in Derbyshire.

And to top it all off? After dinner, I spent some time with my fellow guests at the B&B. We were all looking at the moon together (not too literally, the cloud cover was rather thick!). We saw a hedgehog scurrying past, and then – I kid you not – a whole family of deer emerged from the woods! It was truly magical, especially since my room has a window overlooking the park. It was almost like I was in my own private fairy tale. ✨

Pink Tutu Adventures, Continued

Walkden, you’ve absolutely won my heart! I can't wait to return and explore your nooks and crannies further. And as I promised, it’s not just about the adventures; it's about the mission.

My friends, we can spread the joy of ballet everywhere. Even in the most unexpected places, like Walkden. So, remember: Every day is an opportunity to embrace a pink tutu and discover the magic that lies within you!

Until next time,

Love,

Emma 💖
