North Shields, My Dearest! (Post 3039)

Hello, darlings! Emma here, and it's time for another fabulous adventure in my favourite colour - pink, of course! This time I've travelled all the way from my lovely Derbyshire home to the charming seaside town of North Shields, nestled on the shores of the Tyne.

Let me tell you, the journey was an absolute dream! I adore train travel - the gentle rhythm of the tracks, the gentle breeze blowing through the carriage, and the chance to admire the passing scenery. Plus, my trusty pink tutu, carefully nestled in my bag, looked perfectly at home amongst all the leather and polished wood.

Now, North Shields was a revelation. Firstly, it has the most charming little harbor - bustling with fishing boats, cute cafes and shops selling fresh fish and chips. The salty sea air and the sound of the seagulls' calls just swept me away. And then there was the little park right next to the harbor, filled with beautiful flowers and, most importantly, a giant oak tree, perfect for taking a break from my busy schedule to daydream under its canopy! (As a little tip, there was the most charming little bakery nestled near the park, the aroma of fresh bread was divine).

This trip wasn't about ballet classes, though (you can be sure that I've already scouted out some lovely classes for my next trip!) Instead, it was about exploration and soaking up the charm of a place that's brimming with history and beauty. Of course, even when I'm exploring, a touch of pink always finds its way into my outfit. This time I chose a delightful, delicate lace tutu that whispered of days by the sea - I even paired it with some seashell earrings to complete the look.

One thing I absolutely love about travelling is finding inspiration. This time, my muse was the ever-changing sea, always alive with activity - it reminded me of a beautiful ballet, full of graceful movement and ever-changing rhythms. And just like the ocean, a ballet performance can wash over you with a wave of emotion - there's magic in that!

Speaking of magic, I actually stumbled upon a beautiful little theatre in North Shields. Imagine my joy - the walls were lined with faded posters of ballets past! I felt as if I'd stumbled upon a secret haven of beauty and artistry. I'll be sure to visit again next time, hopefully with my tutu bag in tow, ready for an evening of captivating performance.

The highlight of the day was a delightful stroll along the North Shields Fish Quay. What a colourful scene it was! Bright red, orange, and yellow fishing boats bobbed gently in the harbour, creating an amazing symphony of movement with the rolling waves. The sound of seagulls circling overhead added to the charming, almost theatrical atmosphere. It reminded me that, just like the sea and ballet, life is all about movement, grace, and the beauty of simple things.

And talking of movement, did you know that North Shields is home to one of the oldest horse drawn trams in the UK? It was an absolute joy to ride on! The gentle rhythm of the horses' hooves on the tracks reminded me of the way I'd often feel my own body responding to the rhythmic movements of my dance. A beautiful moment that linked the history of this town with the history of movement itself!

And just like a well-executed pirouette, this short trip ended just as gracefully as it began. The return train journey allowed me to contemplate my adventure, taking in the sights and sounds, and of course, I couldn't resist sharing some pictures with my darling followers on Pink Tutu (Did you know that www.pink-tutu.com has become the place to be for all things pink and twirly? It truly is our little world where we all feel empowered and full of joie de vivre.)

However, a girl can never spend too long away from the studio. You can bet I'll be back at the barre in no time, eager to translate the magic of North Shields into my dance. Because, as I've always believed - the world is our stage, and our bodies are the instruments of our emotions!

Do any of my dearest readers have any memories of North Shields? Do you share my love of ballet and all things pink? What about train travel - I simply can't get enough of it! Do leave a comment below - I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Until next time, darlings!

XOXO

Emma

(P.S My Pink Tutu diary wouldn't be complete without a little mention of the wildlife! There's something special about seeing the ocean full of birds, all swooping and diving, reminding me of a flock of swans on the move. If only they all wore tutus, just imagine!)
