#TutuBlog: Huyton - A Wide Tutu Adventure!

Post Number: 3045

Hello my lovelies!

It's Emma here, writing to you from the heart of… wait for it… Huyton! Yes, you heard right, the place name sounds a little like "hew-ton" but I'm in a fabulous mood and not letting a slightly dull sounding location get me down!

I took the train up today - a gloriously sunny and crisp November day, perfect for a ride in a carriage - or a train, which was what was on offer. I confess, I might have had a sneaky peek at the pink tutu I was bringing with me for my little jaunt, and that cheered me up more than a little bit! The tutu I packed is a big, wide one, as it's for a special ballet show in Huyton tonight and it needs to flow with my moves - a whole pink swirl of elegance, you could say!

And yes, this trip is all about ballet, you betcha! The reason I'm in Huyton is to take in a wonderful show - a ballet called 'The Red Squirrel' by the Huyton Ballet Company. A little about the show - it's about, well, you guessed it - red squirrels! This little ballet is based on a heartwarming story of a small, sprightly red squirrel called Rufus, and his daring journey to find a 'super-nut' in the forest to save his woodland home. Now, the Huyton Ballet Company, well they're quite well known in these parts - they really know how to tell a story with graceful movement! Plus, there's music too - always a plus!

I'm in a really pink mood tonight, so I was excited to find that I can get myself a little pink treat whilst I'm here. A cute little cafe called 'Pinkies' is near the theatre - I'm so excited about their pink coconut cake with strawberry icing, I may just skip my dinner - and maybe even bring a little of that lovely cake back to my hotel room!

It is not all about the ballet, mind you - it is also about this town! I've been strolling through the market today, and let me tell you, it's a treasure trove of little treasures. There was this quaint, antique shop with the most amazing display of vintage teacups. Each one, I swear, was prettier than the next, and some of them were actually pink! They practically screamed to be taken home, but alas, my little suitcase was overflowing with that enormous tutu and wouldn’t allow for any additional porcelain friends! But, I managed to score some adorable little antique pink-and-white buttons to add to my collection. I do love finding bits and bobs on my trips. It adds a little something to the memories of each place I visit!

As for wildlife, Huyton boasts some of the most stunning parks I've seen! The sun was just breaking through the clouds this afternoon, as I wandering about the Huyton Gardens I found a lovely clearing. I spent some time watching the squirrels scurry about. The way they leap from branch to branch - pure magic! I swear, it's like watching a little ballet in the wild!

Talking about inspiration, you should really try ballet yourself - whether at home or in a studio! Ballet has taught me so much about discipline, grace, and how to move in a truly powerful way - a good dancer doesn't need a million steps; they make each one count.

For all my pink tutu beauties out there, Huyton is a must-visit! The place is bursting with beauty - it's truly pink in more ways than you can imagine, whether that’s pink-hued sunsets, pretty shops or pink-laced tutus twirling in the theatre.

Stay tuned for more #TutuBlog posts! I’m already dreaming about what adventures my pink tutu will be taking me on tomorrow…

With love and pink sparkles,

Emma
