Rutherglen Calling! 🩰 πŸš‚

Hello my lovelies! πŸ‘‹ It’s your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving, ballet-obsessed Emma here, and this is post number 3056 (how is it already November?!).

Today I'm buzzing because I'm heading to Rutherglen, Scotland! Now, Rutherglen might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think "ballet", but trust me, this little town has some seriously lovely surprises up its sleeve. 🀫

This trip has a bit of a special story behind it. You know how I adore horses, right? Well, my friend Sarah has been telling me about this beautiful horse farm on the outskirts of Rutherglen. Apparently, they're known for their "pony ballet". Imagine tiny little Shetland ponies all decked out in pink tutus, trotting around a makeshift stage! Sarah's been going on and on about it, and I simply had to see it for myself. πŸ¦„πŸ’–

Speaking of tutus, I'm actually rocking a pancake tutu today! Yep, you heard right - I managed to find this super fun, fluffy, pancake-patterned tutu at a vintage shop in Nottingham. It's all shades of pink and orange, like a beautiful sunrise, and I just had to wear it to Rutherglen. Who better to represent the spirit of pony ballet than a tutu-clad ballerina? πŸ€ͺ

So, my adventure started bright and early this morning. The train ride from Derbyshire was a dream, all crisp autumn leaves and the promise of exciting new places. πŸ‚πŸš‚ I was glued to the window, trying to spot anything pink or sparkly that might indicate I was getting closer to my destination.

I arrived in Rutherglen just as the sun was dipping behind the clouds, casting everything in a golden hue. I got a quick bite to eat at a cute little bakery with some delicious apple crumble (I have to confess, it did take precedence over a fancy ballet-inspired dessert - but we'll talk about that in a later post!).

Now, I’m sitting in my cosy hotel room, just a short walk away from the horse farm. My room overlooks a beautiful park with ducks and swans waddling about. It’s the perfect spot for people-watching – and it wouldn’t surprise me if I see someone strolling by in a pink tutu! πŸ¦†πŸ¦’πŸ©°

I can’t wait to see the ponies and the little ballet show tomorrow. I'll be posting a full report with photos and videos, so you can experience it all with me. Maybe even a little performance video in my pancake tutu! πŸ˜‰

Before I go, I want to ask you - do you have a favourite tutu or outfit that you like to wear to ballet class or to the theatre? Tell me about it in the comments!

Have a fabulously tutu-rific day!

Lots of love, Emma πŸ’•
