Longton Calling! (Post 3075)

"Helloooo darlings!" It's your favourite pink-tutu-loving blogger here, back with another update on my ever-spinning, sparkly life! Today, I'm off on an exciting adventure, travelling all the way to Longton in my trusty steed - a vintage railway carriage, naturally! I love train journeys - the rhythmic clatter, the chance to catch up on a good novel, and the anticipation of reaching a new destination...

Now, I hear you ask, "Emma, why Longton? Why not a glamorous city break or a weekend in the sun?" Well, my loves, Longton is more than meets the eye! It's a charming little town, steeped in history, boasting a magnificent Victorian Theatre that's just bursting with potential for a fabulous ballet performance! (It's where the annual Longton Ballet Festival happens, did you know?)

Oh, and it's got an absolutely delightful wildlife sanctuary - I've heard tell of peacocks strutting their stuff, squirrels flitting around, and even the odd pheasant. Who wouldn't be thrilled about a little nature-spotting after a tiring journey? Plus, I hear they have a divine tearoom right in the heart of town, serving up scones with lashings of cream - can't go wrong with that!

Now, onto the pièce de résistance! (As the French would say - gotta keep those cultured bones working, don't we? 😄) I've got a stunning new tutu for my trip to Longton - and it's, naturally, a dreamy shade of pink! (Pink's always the perfect hue, don't you think?) It's crafted with gossamer tulle and sprinkled with shimmering sequins - oh, darling, it's a true vision! Imagine how elegant I'll look gliding across the stage at the theatre! It will just be breathtaking. I can't wait to show it off to everyone!

Speaking of my travels, I absolutely adored this week's journey - my favourite vintage train carriage felt extra cosy this time! I settled into my window seat, comfy and warm in my oversized cashmere scarf (just like my grandma's favourite, a sweet little nod to tradition, right?) and, you won't believe it, my trusty vintage paperback "Pride and Prejudice" proved the perfect companion. It's amazing how the English countryside makes you long for a romance story - like something straight out of Jane Austen herself.

While the train chugged through rolling hills, I watched the scenery roll by and the world seem to melt away. (I feel like my creativity sparks most in those quiet, reflective moments, it's a wonder I even manage to do laundry with so much inspiration floating around!). When it was time for a little snack, I pulled out my dainty picnic basket – cucumber sandwiches and raspberry tarts are truly a match made in heaven! - a little touch of elegance never hurts, does it?

The true essence of this blog - pink, twirling, and positivity!

And oh my darling, you haven't seen the whole show yet. Longton holds even more magic! After a delightful visit to the theatre, we (I travelled with my darling ballet bestie, Chloe) decided to indulge in a traditional English tea at the town's oldest tea shop. You'll never guess what! I managed to convince them to add a touch of pink to their menu for the afternoon! Now they have a "Pink Tea" complete with raspberry-infused tea and strawberry tarts, it was simply divine. (Let's be honest, we all need a little pink in our lives!)

The rest of our afternoon was spent exploring the town's charming, antique shops. I snagged a truly gorgeous pink broach for my collection - the most elegant shade of dusty pink, you know? It just screamed “Longton” to me, so of course, I just had to bring it home as a reminder of my visit!

Now, I must go, darlings! I have a few photos of my gorgeous new pink tutu, a glimpse of my beautiful countryside adventure, and maybe even a picture or two of that pink tea in Longton to share!

But I can't leave you without one final thought - it's a call to action! What are you waiting for? Go find yourself a pink tutu, darling! And maybe, just maybe, you'll even find your inner ballerina, who knows! Remember, darling, pink is always the perfect colour and dancing makes you feel alive.

"Until next time, keep twirling!" (Remember, the world needs more sparkle and you are just the person to bring it!)

Emma xx
