High Wycombe: Tutu Adventures in the Chilterns

Hey darlings!

It's Emma here, and I'm feeling super excited to share my latest adventure with you all! As you know, I'm a firm believer in living life in a tutu. It's my way of adding a bit of sparkle and whimsy to the everyday. And, of course, I couldn't miss out on a little tutu trip to the beautiful Buckinghamshire town of High Wycombe!

It’s a journey that takes me a little bit further from home in Derbyshire than usual, but the allure of this historic town, nestled amongst the rolling Chilterns, called to my tutu-loving heart! So, naturally, I decided to make it a special occasion, with a train ride through the stunning countryside - there's nothing more glamorous than watching the fields whiz by from the comfort of a train carriage, feeling the gentle breeze in my hair, the world a canvas of ever-changing colours...and a bit of pink for good measure.

I'd say this journey deserves its own blog post, but then I would never get to tell you about my lovely High Wycombe adventure!

Chiltern Charm:

High Wycombe was bursting with personality - think cobbled streets, charming little shops bursting with treasures, and a beautiful church with the most incredible stained glass windows! It's truly one of those towns that makes you want to wander with a smile on your face, taking in the charm at every corner.

It didn't take long before I spotted the perfect backdrop for my tutu shoot - a quaint park, where the soft light of the day filtered through the trees. This is the perfect time of year, don't you think? The weather's turning warmer, the flowers are starting to bloom, and the skies are an incredible blend of blue and clouds, like someone mixed them in a shaker and tipped them across the horizon!

Speaking of colours, the gorgeous shade of pink tutu I chose for my High Wycombe visit was positively stunning, matching the delicate blush of the cherry blossom in bloom. It's like someone designed the blossoms to perfectly complement my ensemble - can you imagine?! A girl could really believe in fate after a day like this, right?

Ballet & Butterflies:

But High Wycombe wasn't just about tutu-tastic photo-shoots (although let’s be honest, those are always a good idea!) I had a delightful chance encounter with a ballet company from the area, who happened to be performing in a charming theatre tucked away behind the local museum.

I may not have worn my tutu to the theatre, darling, although I must admit I contemplated it for a moment! There's just something about a grand ballet, that begs for a bit of extra pizazz, don’t you think? So, instead, I donned my very finest pink-tinted outfit, adding a touch of pastel elegance to the evening. And oh, the show was beautiful - every twirl, every leap, a little piece of magic! It was truly inspiring to see such passion for ballet, and it just cemented my belief that the world needs more tutu-fied moments.

Speaking of inspiration, I stumbled upon a beautiful butterfly sanctuary in a secluded corner of the park, where I managed to capture a picture of a butterfly resting delicately on the pink tulle of my skirt! Oh, I truly believe in fairies, darlings - just a tiny little bit more after that magical encounter! And speaking of magical, what do you think is more delightful than spotting a pink butterfly fluttering among a sea of pink roses? That’s exactly what I experienced, and I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos for you!

A Little Bit of Pink For Everyone:

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows on the quaint streets of High Wycombe, I found myself wondering: Why do we keep tutus locked away in dance studios, confined to ballet classes and grand stage performances? My dream, you know, is to see the world filled with tutus, everyone twirling with joyful abandon, a riot of colours and laughter. Because let's face it, tutus make everything just a little bit better!

They are a symbol of dreams, imagination, and joyful movement. They tell stories of adventure, a little bit of "let's go for it" spirit. They embody freedom of expression, a splash of color, a touch of playful femininity. In a world where we can easily get caught up in the mundane, the seriousness of life, it's good to remember the importance of whimsy, laughter and the joy of twirling around!

And remember, my dear pink-tutu loving friends: every day is a chance to express yourself, to live your dreams, to bring a little bit of pink and a whole lot of tutus into the world! Because you know what? We can make the world a more beautiful place, one tutu-fied step at a time.

Until next time, keep twirling and keep sparkling,

Love,

Emma x

P.S. If you want to get your pink tutu on and try a ballet class, leave me a comment! I’ve compiled a list of wonderful beginner’s classes in High Wycombe that might be right up your alley! I believe that anyone can twirl - just remember to embrace the fun, don't take yourself too seriously and most importantly: wear a pink tutu! You know I’m serious. 😉
