Kensington Calling: Pink Tutu Takes London
Post #3194
Hey gorgeous!
Itās Emma here, your trusty tutu-wearing guide to a world bursting with pinks and pirouettes. Today's adventure whisks me right to the heart of London, specifically the regal and utterly charming Kensington. And whatās more charming than a jaunty pink tutu against the backdrop of a gorgeous Spring day in Kensington? š
Itās been a whirlwind couple of weeks. Last week, I found myself waltzing through Derbyshireās Peak District, leaping over stone walls (well, letās say leaping over the style of stone wall my legs can manage) and then spending the following days with my favourite horses, feeling the sun warm my face while galloping across the fields.
The train journey was, of course, an absolute treat. I love catching the train, something about the rhythm of the tracks and the ever-changing view, puts me in a wonderfully creative mood.
But today, Iām back in London and I have a proper girly day ahead of me. Itās a glorious Spring day here and Iām positively buzzing with excitement. My trusty tutu has, of course, been pressed and polished, ready to conquer the day!
First stop is a little boutique Iāve been eyeing for weeks ā āThe Pink Petalā. Itās tucked away on a side street, all dusty pink walls, and overflowing with floral print scarves, hats, and vintage trinkets. Iām picturing myself in a floral fascinator, a wisp of a lace scarf draped around my neck and my tutu peeking out from under it. What a combination, wouldnāt you say?
Iām thinking that this little vintage find would be the perfect look for my next visit to the Royal Opera House. Did you know theyāre putting on āSwan Lakeā soon? Honestly, I'm dying to see it. I canāt even imagine the grace, the ethereal beautyā¦ oh, just picturing it is enough to make me spin with excitement!
Afterwards, itās time to stretch those limbs and grab some ballet. Iām finally booking that class at the Dance Centre that everyone keeps raving about. Apparently, the instructors are brilliant, the class atmosphere is fun and friendlyā¦ and letās face it, I need to flex my ballerina muscles and get ready for āSwan Lakeā! I wonder if they'll let me in my tutu...
Later, Iām heading to Kensington Gardens, and not for just any old walk, I'm going to have a little picnic with some lovely friends. And you know what? This picnicās going to have a pink tutu theme. Picture this: a perfectly set picnic rug, overflowing with strawberries, delicate sandwiches and creamy homemade cake, all accompanied by chilled pink lemonade, and me, the main attraction, wearing my trusty pink tutu. Oh, itās going to be glorious. And if we're lucky, we might even catch some of the squirrels - those fluffy tails are a dream.
By the time evening rolls around, I might even try and squeeze in a trip to the Kensington Market for some vintage trinkets to add to my collection. But if Iām honest, I think Iām likely to be more drawn to the local bookshop ā "Books and Blooms", Itās such a beautiful little place filled with the aroma of coffee and books ā what more could a girl ask for? And they do the most amazing afternoon teas!
Itās a full-day planned in my pink tutu diary but hey, thatās how we like it, right? If you're ever in Kensington, give these spots a visit and maybe wear a pink tutu to add some fun to your day. Trust me, the world always needs more pink tutu joy!
Catch you all tomorrow for more pink-tutu-themed adventures. Until then, keep dancing, and let your heart guide your steps! š©°š
Love,
Emma
