Loughborough Calling! Post 3211

Hello darlings!

It’s Emma here, back with another instalment from the exciting life of a pink-loving tutu enthusiast! I’m positively bursting with excitement about today’s adventures - Loughborough is calling!

As you know, a good old train journey is my idea of pure bliss. Something about the rhythmic clatter of the wheels and the glimpses of the countryside just puts me in the mood for dancing. Especially with a comfy carriage seat and a little Pink-tutu-branded travel tote filled with my ballet essentials: a bright pink sparkly notebook, my favourite Ballet shoe brush, a mini travel barre and of course, a fluffy pink blanket. Just like in a ballet, the journey is part of the story.

This trip to Loughborough is all about ballet. But not just any old ballet. It’s a ballet festival, darlings! You wouldn’t believe the lineup – contemporary, classical, even a ballet based on the works of Shakespeare! It’s a whirlwind of movement and expression and I can hardly wait to immerse myself in the beauty of it all.

I’ve been dying to check out the Charnwood Museum. They have a wonderful exhibition dedicated to local ballet history - and, of course, I just have to get a picture with their amazing collection of vintage tutus! I imagine it's the perfect background for a post with my new bright orange tutu. The sunshine yellow and deep red panels make it really stand out, wouldn't you agree?

As I gaze out the window at the picturesque countryside gliding by, my mind wanders to a little pink tutu-themed tea party I have planned for the afternoon. I’ve bought the cutest floral patterned teapot (pink, of course!) and the most scrumptious strawberry cakes – I swear, they look just like little pink ballet slippers!

Loughborough seems like such a charming little town with cobbled streets, charming bookshops, and pretty cafes where you can sip delicious tea and read the paper, perfectly positioned to soak up the peaceful ambiance. And, with such beautiful countryside just a hop away, I have to add a scenic stroll to the plan. You see, Loughborough is not just for ballet-mad girls like me. There’s so much natural beauty, with hidden paths winding through woods and stunning lakes reflecting the soft summer sunlight. I hear it’s also a bird-watchers paradise and you can see red kites circling overhead, oh what a sight that would be!

The ballet performances in the evening are going to be breathtaking. I just know it! There’s a special 'Ballet on the Bridge' outdoor event planned under the starry night sky, where the city lights blend into the darkness – just like a beautiful dance of light and shadows. If the stars are kind to us, I might even get a lovely photo of myself twirling under the starry night. Imagine! My new orange tutu, my lovely hair flowing in the night wind, and the bridge illuminated with beautiful spotlights. This is definitely an Instagram moment!

And then, of course, there's the 'Pink Tutu Party' that's on my mind. After all, it's only fitting that my weekend adventure culminates in a celebration of all things ballet and pink. We'll have music, laughter, and more cakes – and who knows, maybe even a little impromptu dance routine! My ultimate dream is to convince everyone to slip into a pink tutu and let their inner ballerina shine through. Who knows, maybe even one of those lovely boys at the café might be tempted by the dance! And if I can convert just one person to the wonderful world of ballet, I’ll be dancing for joy for weeks!

Stay tuned, darlings, because I’ll be posting my Loughborough updates throughout the weekend on my beloved www.pink-tutu.com! I'll let you know all about the ballet performances, the delightful afternoon tea party, the beautiful countryside, and my amazing new orange tutu! Can’t wait to share the magical experience with all of you.

Lots of love and pirouettes,

Emma

P.S: Speaking of pirouettes, I’m planning to sneak in some ballet lessons at a local studio too. You know, keep those skills sharp. It's just a little bit of self-care and practice makes perfect - always! Can't resist adding that lovely pink bow to my hair too. Nothing says 'ballet enthusiast' like a cute pink ribbon!
