Ruislip Calling! A Tutu-ful Day Out and a Pink Pony! (Post #3215)

Hey my gorgeous pink-loving peeps! Emma here, and guess what? Today has been an absolute dream! It all started with the most gloriously sunny morning in Derbyshire ā€“ you know, that kind of morning where the birds are singing and the air smells like fresh daisies? Pure magic! After a quick but delicious breakfast of pink grapefruit and berries, I packed my trusty pink duffel bag ā€“ it's like my second skin, you know, with all the compartments for my ballet shoes, ribbons, and of course, a spare tutu!

I headed to the station for my favourite part of the day ā€“ the journey! Thereā€™s something about watching the English countryside whiz past as the train chugs along that just puts me in such a happy mood. I dreamt of tutus twirling, of elegant leaps and graceful landings, all the while watching fluffy sheep graze in fields bathed in sunshine. Pure bliss!

Arriving at Ruislip station, I felt like I'd stepped into a storybook! Ruislipā€™s just bursting with quaint charm ā€“ quaint little cafes with hanging baskets overflowing with pink geraniums, a little village square buzzing with life, and an antique shop overflowing with trinkets just begging to be rediscovered. I could have spent the whole day just exploring, but my main reason for visiting was just around the corner ā€“ the Ruislip Manor and Park.

Ruislip Manor, with its majestic white facade and perfectly manicured gardens, has always held a special place in my heart. The Tudor house is absolutely stunning, and the gardens are like stepping into a peaceful sanctuary. Today though, it was the stable that had me excited!

Why? You might askā€¦ Well, a little secret (but really not that secret at all because who hasnā€™t dreamt of it?!) I am a huge fan of horses ā€“ beautiful, graceful, powerfulā€¦ they are a dream! Iā€™ve ridden before, of course. Itā€™s one of the most exhilarating feelings. I know they're incredibly strong and powerful, but their grace is breathtaking! I mean, a gallop on a beautiful chestnut mareā€¦ what could be more thrilling? Anyway, Ruislip Manor hosts a few lovely ponies, and today was their "Meet and Greet" day. I was not going to miss it!

My favourite, of course, was a little chestnut mare with the most gorgeous pink nose and pink hooves! (Did I tell you I love pink?) She looked right at me with the sweetest eyes, and let me pet her soft velvety muzzle! This mare felt as graceful as a ballerina herself! My pink tutu actually matched her hoof-bands! We stood there in complete and utter contentment for a while ā€“ two little girls, lost in their own perfect world, giggling at each other's pink accents.

Later, as I wandered through the Manorā€™s beautiful gardens, my imagination went into overdrive, creating a scene from a beautiful fairytale: The princess dances gracefully with her steed in a shimmering pink tutu, the roses of the garden as soft as silkā€¦ Yes, this is where my mind went, the ballerina, the beautiful chestnut pony, a stunning sunset ā€“ an utterly enchanting scene. I can already picture it! Giggles

Ruislip was everything Iā€™d hoped it would be - peaceful, enchanting, and utterly perfect for a little fairytale escapade. This day out is definitely going straight to the top of my "must-do" list, especially as this charming manor houses one of the most wonderful tea rooms with pink cakes and sconesā€¦ did I mention I love pink?

Of course, after my delicious afternoon tea (scones and clotted cream!), I felt a bit of the ā€œpink ponyā€ spirit surge through me, and I ended the day with a twirl or two at the Ruislip Library's lovely park. A ballet performance just me and the setting sun as my audience.

The evening air was cool, but my heart was warm and full of that post-dance bliss. It reminded me that even on ordinary days, thereā€™s magic to be found ā€“ in the quiet corners of our own minds, in a gentle horse's velvety nose, and, of course, in the joy of spinning in a pink tutu under a setting sun.

I hope my adventures inspire you to discover some of the magic that lies hidden in your own corner of the world.

Stay sparkly, my loves! And always, always wear a pink tutu!

With love, Emma x
