Merthyr Tydfil: Pink Tutu on a Welsh Adventure (Post #3256)
Hello lovelies! Emma here, ready to whisk you off on another delightful adventure. Today we’re heading to the heart of Wales, specifically the bustling town of Merthyr Tydfil. My lovely white tutu and I are going to take on the valleys with all the panache of a graceful swan.
You know me, I love my pink, but there’s a certain elegance about white that just begs to be showcased in a place as dramatic and historic as Merthyr.
Before I left, I couldn't resist a little window shopping in Matlock Bath. Found myself a divine floral fascinator for this trip. Flowers are all the rage, aren’t they? They match my beautiful pink floral print handbag too! My little pink floral shoes are feeling rather jealous. But don’t worry, my little shoes, there’s a chance to shine when we get back! And I promise to look after my elegant white tutu; it wouldn’t want to be stuck in mud, not this time, no, sir!
I have to confess, a little bit of me did wish I could have journeyed to Merthyr by horse, perhaps one of those magnificent Welsh cobs. Wouldn’t that be a sight to see? A ballerina on a cob! I just pictured the photo op - pink tutu swirling, a plume of mane and me looking incredibly regal, right out of a storybook. Alas, I’ll have to settle for a charming, scenic train ride. I might have a little nappy and dream about those Welsh cob shenanigans, perhaps even with a white tutu clad dream ballet partner. He would probably be a handsome Welsh rugby player. What a perfect pairing, wouldn’t you say? Just imagine!
When I arrive, my first order of business is a delightful picnic lunch. I've already packed a basket with the best Welsh treats - some delightful Welsh cakes with fresh cream, a crisp Welsh apple, and, of course, a generous dose of pink candy floss. There’s something so magical about picnic lunches, wouldn’t you say? Just imagine the joy of opening that picnic basket in a picturesque place like this, with views stretching across the valleys, green and rolling and magnificent! The white tutu would surely appreciate the opportunity to be posed among nature's finest art.
The local museum will be calling my name this afternoon. Imagine the historical secrets held within! A journey into Welsh history with a ballet-inspired flair. And the drama, the theatrics - just what a true ballerina needs! Perhaps a little inspiration for my own stage choreography - maybe a graceful swan dancing atop the rolling green hills, her white tutu the perfect contrast to the vibrant greens and browns of the landscape!
But before I step into the museum, I absolutely need to get my daily ballet practice in. I'll be performing some plies and releve’s with the backdrop of those valleys. It'll be my private ballerina recital for the hills of Merthyr! Maybe, if I'm lucky, some sheep might stop by for an impromptu audience. Wouldn't that be fun?
As for the evening, it's time to soak in the beauty of a Welsh sunset. You see, I have this crazy belief that each place has a soul. You just need to connect with it. A sunset helps to do that. And then, who knows, I might just meet a handsome gentleman who might even suggest that he teach me a traditional Welsh jig!
Speaking of handsome, it is simply amazing how Merthyr is home to the first ever recorded Welsh National Eisteddfod! Just think of all the music and song that has graced those valleys, passed down through generations!
I want to leave Merthyr feeling truly inspired, filled with new creative ideas and maybe a newfound appreciation for the majestic Welsh countryside. After all, what better way to end this pink tutu adventure than by reminding myself why I love this magical world of ballet! I've come to believe, you know, that there is a perfect ballerina in each and every one of us, ready to step onto the stage of life. And when you’re ready, remember, my dears, pink tutus are welcome on the stage. In fact, I think you’d be surprised how many opportunities life offers when you dress with a pink tutu as your confidence weapon!
Till tomorrow!
Emma xoxo
