Kingswood Calling! (Post #3266)

Hello my darling dance-lovers! Emma here, back from another fabulous adventure, this time to the charming village of Kingswood. This little slice of England, nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, is just so idyllic - think rolling green hills, picturesque cottages, and an air of serenity that's just… sigh. I could live here!

But enough about the countryside for now. I'm here to talk about ballet, my lovelies! As always, I packed my trusty, fabulous pink tutu - this time opting for a European-style design, complete with flowing layers and a smattering of sequins. The epitome of elegance, wouldn't you say?

Getting there was half the fun! I opted for a scenic train journey, of course. My fellow passengers, a gaggle of London theatregoers, were utterly charmed by my tutu (it always garners some attention!), and by the time we arrived in Kingswood, we were all fast friends!

My mission this time was to see the Kingswood Ballet Company's performance of "Giselle," and let me tell you, my darlings, it was a dream. The costumes, the dancing, the drama - pure magic! I must confess, a couple of times, I even had a little tear welling up. Such power, such artistry, it really does get me every time!

After the show, we all headed off for a proper English pub supper. It was absolutely divine, with local ales and hearty comfort food. I even convinced a couple of the gents to try a dainty pinky bite of my crumble – they're a little slow on the uptake when it comes to delicate things, bless their souls!

But my love for the stage doesn't just stop at the theatre! On the morning before my departure, I made a little detour to the local village hall, where a lovely bunch of kids were learning the joys of ballet. Oh my, they were so delightful! I had a chance to chat with their instructor - she’s actually a retired dancer from the Royal Ballet - and even joined in for a bit. My legs might be aching, but my heart is overflowing!

Let’s face it, I think we all need a little more ballet in our lives. This fabulous form of art has been a source of strength, grace and sheer joy for me, and I want it to be for everyone. I dare you, my lovelies, to step out of your comfort zones and embrace a little pirouette, a little plié. Trust me, it’s the best decision you’ll ever make. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll even try a pink tutu.

Now, before I get completely lost in the beauty of Kingswood, I need to tell you about the incredible wildlife I encountered! A family of foxes were frolicking in the fields near my quaint B&B, and a rare hawk hovered over the church tower! Honestly, you could just about feel the magic in the air.

I truly believe that every journey, whether by train, on horseback or on foot, holds the potential for beautiful experiences, heartwarming connections and magical encounters with our planet’s wonders. So, my loves, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zones and explore.

I'll be back soon with more travel tales and a whole host of ballerina inspiration. In the meantime, keep those tutus twirling, and don’t forget to sprinkle a little pink into your lives.

Until next time,

Emma
