Llanelli, my lovely! (Post #3284)

Helloooo darlings! Itā€™s your favourite pink tutu princess, Emma, back again with another day in the life. Today weā€™re stepping out of Derbyshire and taking a trip to the seaside, but with a bit of a twist! Iā€™ve got my eyes set on Llanelli, a delightful little town in Wales.

Why Llanelli, you ask? Well, letā€™s just say it was calling my name. Not with a loud, brassy, "Come here, Emma!" shout, but more like a gentle, ethereal whisper carried on a summer breeze. That whisper, you see, came from my love of Welsh culture - a passion I've been nursing ever since my childhood trip to Snowdonia, where I discovered the beauty of mountain streams, sheep dotted across hillsides, and even the mythical creature that is the Welsh dragon (I adore the colours!).

So, Llanelli beckoned and I was eager to embark on this journey. No cars for me though! As a true romantic, my travel must involve either horses or train journeys. Today it's a whistle stop (sorry, couldn't resist) trip to the Welsh coast, by train, of course. It feels like a journey of discovery in a charmingly rickety, retro carriage - something straight out of a romantic movie, complete with fluffy clouds out of the window.

Llanelli, oh Llanelli!

The first thing that struck me about Llanelli was its friendly atmosphere. People waved as I hopped off the train and a woman with a bright pink bob (oh, she must have read my blog!) smiled and asked if I was enjoying the sunshine. Of course, my inner fashionista instantly noted how fabulous she looked in her polka-dot dress, but more about fashion laterā€¦

Now, the real reason for this adventure? Itā€™s a treat for my eyes! A local ballet company, The Welsh Dance Theatre, is holding a performance tonight - a captivating production of "Swan Lake". Can you imagine? Swans. Tutus. Ballet. This is pretty much the perfect concoction for Emma!

While I waited for the performance, I had a lovely chat with a sweet elderly woman, Eira, who sat beside me in the theatre foyer. Turns out she used to be a ballet teacher herself! She even recalled performing in a ā€œGiselleā€ tour in the 60s - she looked a little wistful at the thought, and I swore to her, and to the ballet gods, that Iā€™d be back in Llanelli soon with my own pink tutu to show her my own little swan lake in a mini show just for her.

She beamed as I spoke, and said the only thing that truly matters in life is following your passions, whatever your age. Itā€™s so wonderful to hear from experienced ballerinas, who have gone through the joy and beauty, the aches and pains of a dancing life, like she has!

But wait! Back to fashionā€¦ This adventure has provided an inspirational feast for my eyes! Llanelli itself is simply gorgeous. Cobblestone streets, colourful cottages, and flowerboxes overflowing with pinks, reds, and whites have all gone straight onto my Instagram feed, darling! Oh, you can bet that those lovely houses will feature as backdrop for my tutu-filled snaps tomorrow. Just imagine it - a splash of colour in an already charming setting, my own personal rainbow of happiness!

My heart just skips a beat for any opportunity to add some tulle-powered fun to a quaint seaside town. My trip here was about much more than just a ballet performance. Itā€™s about embracing a new culture, appreciating the simple joys of life, and finding inspiration in every corner of this world. As a girly girl who loves her tutus, ballet, and everything pretty, Llanelli definitely did not disappoint. It truly reminded me that you never know where life will take you, so embrace every moment and dance with a smile on your face!

I promise, I'll show you a sneak peak of the magical "Swan Lake" production in my next post. For now, I'm just basking in the afterglow of a lovely trip and the gentle beauty of the Welsh seaside. Remember my loves, if you've never tried it, try a bit of ballet! You might be surprised at how much you love it!

Have a sparklingly happy week, darling. Love always,

Emma

P.S. My special little thank you to The Welsh Dance Theatre, Eira (the lovely lady from the foyer) and Llanelli for the wonderful memories. See you soon Llanelli. I think this will be the start of a very beautiful friendship!

P.P.S. My new favourite outfit combination right now is pink ballet tutu with a white, oversized denim jacket and pink sparkly shoes! It's a perfect example of how I like to mix and match my pink tutu for different occasions, giving it a casual and sporty look. Don't be afraid to experiment!
