Hello, my darling dance divas! It's your favourite Derbyshire girl, Emma, checking in from sunny Prestwich! Yes, the sun is actually shining down here in Greater Manchester, so naturally, Iā€™ve packed my brightest pink tutu and my finest ballerina flats, and Iā€™m ready for some seriously glamorous adventures!

Let me tell you, reaching Prestwich was quite an experience. The train ride was quite frankly idyllic. I popped on my best pink cardigan (itā€™s surprisingly hard to find pink cardigans that donā€™t scream 'grandma' - thank goodness for my stylist!), my tutu was fluttering in the wind as I watched the scenery whizz by. Just as the train rolled into Manchester Piccadilly, a group of school girls passed by wearing cute little pink ballet bags. Such perfect timing! (They must have felt the tutuspiration!)

But it wasnā€™t just the journey that was delightful; Prestwich itself is absolutely delightful! It's a charming little town with all sorts of sweet, quaint boutiques and shops. My absolute favourite discovery was the ā€˜Sugar & Spiceā€™ cake shop. Their pink marshmallow squares with a hint of lemon were absolute divine - I swear, theyā€™re going to become my new favourite snack. And who can resist a sprinkle of pink on your sugar rush?

This weekā€™s adventure has been all about exploring this beautiful little corner of Greater Manchester, taking in the sights and embracing the magic of ballet. Yesterday, I took a detour to Heaton Park - the setting for this yearā€™s amazing Ballet Under The Stars production! Just imagine it! Moonlight bathing the dancers as they take flight - breathtaking, right? I actually snuck into a secret performance rehearsal for ā€œGiselleā€ last night. Winks dramatically Letā€™s just say I was in awe - I canā€™t even express the beauty of seeing those graceful ballerinas leaping and pirouetting under the starry sky. You really get the sense of a real-life fairy tale unfolding, and I have to say, that magic had me absolutely mesmerized. It was all quite overwhelming - cue the happy tears.

Then this morning, I had a quick practice at the stunning Prestwich Dance Studio! (A little tutu-tightening session never hurts, darling.) You know what's brilliant about ballet? It doesnā€™t matter where you are, whether itā€™s a dance studio in the centre of London, a beautiful manor house in the Derbyshire countryside, or a little studio in a town like Prestwich. You step into that space, you throw on that tutu, and poof youā€™re transported into another world, a world filled with grace, elegance, and pure artistry!

The studio itself is charming. Itā€™s filled with an abundance of pink, and I can tell you, they definitely know their tutus here! My tutor, Mr. D, has a heart of gold and is quite frankly the most brilliant instructor this side of the Pennines. And you know what else? He insisted that his classes should be open to all ages! This absolutely delighted me. After all, why should it be only children who experience the magic of ballet? Letā€™s bring back the ballet for adults. Itā€™s not just about the dance steps, my darling dance divas - it's a journey of self-discovery. Itā€™s about connecting with your inner self, your inner ballerina.

Later today, Iā€™m headed over to Manchester to catch a show by the Northern Ballet Theatre - oh my! They are quite literally masters of ballet storytelling. I love the raw emotion, the powerful performances. They bring out the story in such a captivating way. You can tell just by their artistry and the beautiful expressions in their movements, they truly dedicate themselves to the magic of storytelling.

Now, you may wonder why I'm posting so many stories about ballet. Well, the thing is, it's not just a passion for me - itā€™s a mission. Itā€™s about making this beautiful art form accessible to everyone! Letā€™s face it - it's so often presented as this incredibly exclusive and unattainable world, with rigid rules and fancy terminology. And whilst I adore the regal tradition of ballet, it really needs to be demystified for everyone to embrace.

This week has reminded me exactly why I started this little pink tutu crusade. It's not just about looking fabulous in a pink tutu (though, let's be honest, it's definitely a massive perk!) Itā€™s about the confidence, the grace, and the sheer joy it brings into our lives! Imagine: a world where everyone feels the thrill of leaping, twirling and pirouetteing their way into their dreams, where every single person feels empowered by the magical world of ballet!

Now Iā€™m off to the theatre to be enchanted by ā€œCinderellaā€ - this modern twist with an exciting set and stunning costumes should be absolutely magical! Don't forget to catch up on my journey! Come join me at www.pink-tutu.com - share your thoughts, post pictures of yourself in a pink tutu, and lets all embrace this beautiful, joyful, liberating form of expression together. Now go grab your pinkest tutu, my darling divas - itā€™s time to dance! šŸ’–
