Hanwell in a Cyan Tutu - Blog Post #3328

Helloooo my darlings!

It’s Emma here, writing to you from the quaint little town of Hanwell! Now, I know what you’re thinking - Hanwell?! Where on earth is that? Well, dear readers, let me enlighten you. It’s nestled in the heart of west London, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the city.

But enough about Hanwell, let’s talk about tutus! Oh my, I simply adore them. There’s something about a billowing skirt of tulle that fills my heart with such joy. This week, I’m all about my new cyan tutu. It’s like a beautiful summer sky - it's light and airy, yet still packs a punch. I absolutely fell in love with the colour when I saw it at a vintage store in the middle of Derbyshire, a little haven for me. I knew instantly it had to join my growing tutu collection!

Onward to the big city!

Now, this week's journey was a particularly special one. You know I'm always happiest in a vintage-style carriage or with my face pressed against the train window, and this time I got the very best of both! From the quaint beauty of Derbyshire, I journeyed to London by train, the most idyllic way to travel!

The countryside scenery truly made my day. As we whizzed through the green hills and golden fields, I found myself sketching the magnificent fluffy sheep. Sheep, don’t forget, are also amazing dancers - they move so gracefully as they frolic! In a different lifetime, I may have even taken up sheep-dancing.

Anyway, back to my Hanwell adventure. My main reason for venturing to this little corner of London was to watch an exquisite production of "Swan Lake" at the lovely local theatre. Let me tell you, my darlings, it was truly divine! Every arabesque, every pirouette, every leap - I was utterly enchanted. They even had a swan costume! So beautiful.

And did I mention the costumes? The ballerinas looked like ethereal dream-like figures! I mean, who could resist those elegant white tutus with a hint of shimmer?! They simply looked sensational.

Sharing the love!

You know I am always a fan of making every day a little bit more magical, and that's exactly what I tried to do when I headed to a ballet class at the local dance studio. Let me tell you, the instructor was a total sweetheart. She actually laughed when I entered the room with my cyan tutu. “You’re the only one with that!” she chuckled. You know me though, I couldn't resist the opportunity to showcase my gorgeous tutu and encourage some of the others to let loose and try a new shade! (Perhaps we’ll have a “tutu day” next time… watch this space!)

The class itself was brilliant. Even the warm-up was so enjoyable. And who knew stretching could feel so elegant?

After all that dancing, a bit of relaxation was needed, and of course I indulged in my favourite post-ballet treat: a decadent slice of Victoria sponge cake, accompanied by a strong cup of Earl Grey tea. Yum! It just makes everything feel so delightful.

Pink Tutu Inspiration for you!

My dearies, I always love sharing inspiration, so here are my little musings about this trip to Hanwell:

  • Embrace the journey: No matter how short or long, make time for a journey, and savour every moment. You never know what beautiful scenery or enchanting wildlife you’ll encounter!
  • Always add a pop of colour: Be bold with your choices, whether it’s a vibrant new dress or a splash of paint on your walls. Colour brightens the world and makes everything feel a bit more playful.
  • Share the beauty of ballet: If you're looking for a magical experience that combines art and athleticism, look no further than ballet. Take a class, visit a show, or simply watch videos online. And maybe even consider sporting a tutu.

And lastly, my lovelies, remember:

*"You can never be too pink!" *

Stay fabulous and stay tutu-tiful,

Emma
