Farnworth: Tutu Travels, Post 3336!

Oh my darlings, hello! It's Emma, your ever-so-pink tutu enthusiast, bringing you another little slice of my ballet-tastic life! 🩰💖

This week I've been in the absolutely delightful Farnworth, and it's safe to say, it was truly a whirlwind of tutus, trains, and the cutest, fluffiest bunnies you ever did see! 🐇 (Don't worry, they were safe and sound in a little petting zoo – not in a stew, thankfully!).

I travelled down by train, of course. It’s not always glamorous – especially when there are screaming children and someone with far too much perfume – but the journey was a dream! The English countryside just rolled past my window, a blur of green and sunshine. It put me in the perfect mood for a weekend of ballet, and you know I always pack my trusty tutu in my travel bag – just in case I spot a charming meadow! 🌸

Speaking of charming, did I tell you about the lovely dance shop in Farnworth I discovered? It's just bursting with all things ballerina. Tutu dreams galore! They even had this magnificent pink feather boa that I couldn't resist adding to my collection. Oh, it's the perfect accessory, darling! 🎀 I can already imagine twirling around on stage, boa flowing behind me like a beautiful, pink cloud. ✨

German Tutu Glory

And now, let’s talk about the main event: the German ballet company I went to see! Oh, the brilliance! These dancers were absolutely magnificent. There was this one move where the ballerina practically glided across the stage. It was like watching a graceful swan! I mean, have you ever seen a ballerina jump so high? It was truly spectacular, a dream come true for a ballet-mad girl like me.

The pièce de résistance, however, was the final act. They used a stunning white tutu. I’ve been dreaming about getting a similar white one, something with flowing tulle that looks like it’s made from a cloud… I mean, darling, how amazing is white on a ballet dancer? The way the spotlights highlighted the ballerina's form? She looked almost otherworldly, an ethereal creature in a field of white! I was nearly speechless!

I even bought myself a little souvenir – a German tutu! Can you believe it? I had to, for the memories, right? The shop assistant said they import their fabrics from Germany, hence the “German” bit. I know it might be a little controversial to have a German tutu, darling. Some might say, “Emma, that's un-British!” But I say, "Embrace the diversity! Embrace the world! Embrace pink tutus, wherever they may originate from!”

Farnworth: A True Delight

The whole weekend was simply delightful. From the quaint, bustling little shops of Farnworth to the charming horse-drawn carriage ride through the town (yes, darling, I still think horse-drawn carriages are so romantic! I'd love to get a miniature horse! But that's a story for another post…), my time in Farnworth was a wonderful mix of history, culture, and ballet bliss.

I know some of you are saying, "But Emma, aren't you missing Derbyshire? Aren't you homesick for the rolling hills?" And you know what? Sometimes I do miss the rolling hills of Derbyshire and my little grey tabby, Percy. He’s the most well-behaved little cat in the world, I’ll have you know – and the most loving, and he certainly misses my pink tutus. But every trip reminds me how vast and wonderful the world is, and there’s so much to discover!

Don't forget, darlings, you can share your tutu stories with me! Tag your pics on social media with #PinkTutu! You never know – you might see yours featured on the blog!

Keep dancing, and keep smiling! Lots of love,

Emma xoxo
