Blackpool - A Seaside Paradise in Pink! 🩰🌊

Oh my darlings, it's me, your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, Emma! Ready for a trip down memory lane to a Blackpool weekend filled with sand, sunshine, and a very special pancake tutu! 😉

It all started with a yearning for seaside adventures. My Derbyshire home, while lovely, can sometimes feel a bit landlocked. So, off I trotted to the train station, the rhythmic clackety-clack of the train taking me further and further away from my usual routine. There’s just something magical about train travel, isn’t there? The wind in my hair, the world rushing past the window… It's a ballet of its own!

Arriving in Blackpool was like stepping into a postcard. The air smelled of salt and popcorn, the seagulls were squawking excitedly, and the golden sand was just begging for a barefoot stroll. I grabbed myself a fish and chip cone – crispy and delicious, of course – and walked along the promenade, taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling seaside town.

And of course, no trip to the seaside is complete without a little ballet, is it? Luckily, Blackpool had a lovely little ballet school tucked away on a side street. It was called “Dancers' Delight”, and trust me, the name didn’t disappoint! They even had a cute pink-and-white sign above the door, just begging to be photographed for my Insta! 💕

The teacher was an absolute gem, full of energy and passion. I joined a beginner's class, my feet tapping with excitement as I learned the basic steps. Everyone in the class was so friendly and welcoming, it was just a lovely experience. They all seemed to appreciate my beautiful pink tutu! I mean, really, how could they not?

Now, you might be wondering what on earth a pancake tutu is. Well, my darling, I am all for celebrating life's little pleasures. And what's more celebratory than a big, delicious stack of pancakes? So, on our Saturday outing to the pier, I surprised myself (and the entire boardwalk, honestly) by adding a little bit of ballet to my pancake adventure. It’s my signature, see, finding ways to blend everyday experiences with my love of dance.

We took a leisurely ride on the iconic Blackpool Tower ballroom carousel. I felt like I was a princess, twirling to the sweet music with the seaside breeze blowing through my hair. You know, the type of day where it really feels like you are dancing through life! And of course, we stopped at a charming cafe, their pancakes perfectly golden brown. You know I couldn’t resist the opportunity! Using a lovely stack of fresh-off-the-grill goodness as a base, I created a delicious pancake tutu - a perfect tribute to the magic of the day. It involved a whole lot of fresh fruit, a healthy dose of cream and a touch of my inner creative energy! (There might have been some sprinkles and some adorable little edible flowers too. No judging!).

Later that day, we headed for the beautiful Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the sun shimmering on the whirling rides and twinkling lights. It was truly a sensory overload in the best way possible. The rides were exciting, but also exhilaratingly terrifying in all the right ways. I swear I felt like a little girl again, the thrill coursing through my veins as we raced through the air!

Before the sun dipped below the horizon, I had to steal a moment of peace to watch the sea. Just sitting on a bench, breathing in the salty air, the calming sound of the waves crashing on the shore – there's just something truly soul-soothing about the sea. 🌊 It's like the world's largest and most mesmerizing ballet stage, always shifting and changing, but eternally beautiful.

Blackpool was everything I hoped it would be and more. I even took some time to indulge in a little retail therapy! (You can never have too many pink tutus!). My journey wasn’t just about exploring the seaside paradise – it was about dancing my way through every moment, turning ordinary into extraordinary. I just love how I can use ballet to create so much joy wherever I go! If a girl from Derbyshire can bring a pancake tutu to Blackpool, I truly believe that everyone can find their own unique way to bring a touch of grace and joy to their own everyday lives. So go forth, my darlings! Embrace your inner ballerina and wear that pink tutu with pride!

And for my next adventure? Well, you'll have to stay tuned! 😉

Until next time, Emma

xx
