Burton upon Trent - Tutu Adventures in the Heart of England! πŸ©°βœ¨πŸ’–

Hello darlings! Emma here, back with another post from my pink tutu-filled adventures! πŸŽ€

It's been a whirlwind of tutus and travel lately, and today I'm buzzing with excitement to share my escapades from a fab trip to Burton upon Trent! This beautiful town, nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, is a treasure trove of history, culture, and (of course!) some absolutely amazing ballet opportunities.

This adventure started with a bang! My trusty steed (I mean, trusty train, obviously) whizzed me through the rolling green Derbyshire countryside, passing quaint villages and babbling brooks. As we trundled along, I couldn't help but picture a glorious vision of a pink tutu-clad ballet dancer gracefully leaping through the fields! (Can you see it?!)

My arrival in Burton upon Trent was a welcome sight - the cobbled streets were abuzz with locals and visitors alike, the air crisp with the aroma of hot cider (perfect after a frosty train journey!), and the scent of freshly baked bread from the local bakery wafting tantalisingly around the corners.

And speaking of tempting treats, you know what went straight to the top of my 'must-do' list in Burton upon Trent? The national brewery tour of course! A delightful trip with tastings! And yes, I did sneakily wear a little pink ribbon around my wrist, just to keep the energy up. πŸ˜‰

Of course, my real reason for journeying to Burton was to attend a special ballet performance at the Burton upon Trent Albert Hall. It's a grand Victorian venue, absolutely beautiful - perfect for a bit of tutu-fied enchantment! The performance itself was absolutely magical - the dancers were flawless, their movements fluid and graceful, and the story (it was 'The Nutcracker', in case you were wondering) brought tears to my eyes. Such a poignant and beautiful tale.

And before I could even let the after-glow of the performance fade, I had to visit The Brewhouse Theatre. It's a gorgeous venue right in the heart of Burton upon Trent, brimming with character. I could almost imagine Shakespeare himself gracing the stage here! (With a pink tutu, naturally.)

Between the theatre visits and my 'secret' little brewery tour, I couldn't let a day in Burton upon Trent slip away without a visit to The National Brewery Centre. It was a captivating insight into the world of brewing, from the barley fields to the bottled finished product, with fascinating insights into the history of this beloved local beverage. They even had a beautiful rose garden, with cascading rose petals raining down on a gorgeous pink-painted bench. (Pink, naturally! I just had to sit and dream about pink tutus amidst the fragrant roses).

And wouldn't you know it, right around the corner, was the National Tramway Museum. This enchanting spot was filled with gleaming historic trams, all ready to transport you back in time! I couldn't resist a quick photo op in my tutu, striking a pose like a true vintage ballerina. (I did make sure I had my ballet shoes with me in case I needed to impromptu tap dance my way onto one of those trams.)

My time in Burton upon Trent zipped by in a whirlwind of tutus, historic wonders, and the gentle warmth of local hospitality. But before I left, I knew I had to take a little break and recharge. So, I sought refuge at the National Forest Adventure Farm! I was captivated by the breathtaking landscapes, and the fascinating array of animals. My favourite part? The majestic deer that roamed freely, their velvet antlers like regal crowns. Of course, I couldn't leave without trying to recruit some of the adorable sheep and goats to the Pink Tutu Club. (Perhaps next time!).

Leaving Burton upon Trent, I felt rejuvenated and inspired. It’s amazing how a weekend away can fill your soul with a sense of wonder and new perspectives. There is something about a new adventure, exploring the heart of a new place, that stirs your spirit. And for a true tutu lover like me, a new experience is always sparkling with fresh inspiration and opportunities to embrace a little more colour and creativity in my world.

As I board the train for home, I find myself pondering my next destination… perhaps somewhere on the beautiful coast? Or perhaps I'll be inspired to follow the gentle path of the railway and embark on a new adventure just down the line? Stay tuned, darlings, because this little ballerina is just getting started!

With love and sparkles,

Emma πŸ’–
