Littlehampton: Where the Sea Meets the Tutu! (Post #3472)

Hello, my darling dancers! It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-clad travel buddy, ready to whisk you away on another dazzling adventure. Today, we're venturing to the beautiful seaside town of Littlehampton, nestled on the sparkling shores of West Sussex. It’s a trip inspired by the irresistible pull of the sea – I can’t resist the call of the salty breeze, especially when it whispers promises of adventures on the sand!

Remember that pink tutu I was telling you about last week? It was practically begging to be waltzed along the promenade! Honestly, there’s something about the wind in your hair and the sea spray on your face that makes even the simplest pirouette feel like an epic ballet performance. Plus, the Littlehampton pier – with its charming seaside charm – practically begs for a photo op, complete with tutu, of course!

Speaking of photos, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram (@pinktutudancer). I’m posting pictures of my adventures daily! This week I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the stunning coastline, featuring some dramatic seagull poses (those birds have such amazing posture!).

But this wasn't just a trip for me to pose with my tutu! Littlehampton boasts a bustling town centre, packed with shops brimming with treasures – perfect for hunting down some unique pieces to complete my ballet wardrobe. The little independent shops are particularly delightful, full of charming little boutiques bursting with creativity and that individual charm I absolutely adore. Plus, I found the cutest little pink flamingo pencil case (flamingoes – they're just SO ballet!) – a little treasure to help keep my ballet life organised and to inspire my own daily steps.

Oh, and speaking of steps… my travels are rarely complete without a visit to a local dance school, and Littlehampton certainly didn’t disappoint! I dropped in on the lovely ‘Dancing Dreams’ studio for a beginner’s ballet class – they had such a beautiful space with big windows overlooking the harbour. They even let me use my pink tutu – how chic! I was particularly delighted with their commitment to nurturing young talent – even the tiniest toes had a twinkle in their eyes as they danced with the grace and confidence of tiny swans.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Emma, Littlehampton isn't exactly the cultural hub of the UK…” But let me tell you, it’s all about the small things. From a picnic lunch on the beach watching the world go by to sipping on a delicious coffee overlooking the harbour (it felt very continental!), there's a simple magic to this coastal gem. There’s a gentle charm here that reminds you to slow down, enjoy the moment and just be present.

But no trip is truly complete without experiencing some of the local wildlife. And, well, let's just say my ballet lessons haven’t equipped me to cope with a seaside encounter with a plump, playful seal – luckily the friendly local seagull gang were around to provide some comedic relief and ensure my pink tutu stayed spotlessly clean!

My train journey home, filled with the echoes of the waves, felt a little like a lullaby, lulled by the gentle rhythm of the tracks. And you know what? It was then that it hit me - Sometimes the most beautiful dances happen in the most unexpected places.

I’m a Derbyshire girl at heart – but there's something so captivating about the sea, and Littlehampton with its quirky charm is a perfect place for any dancer – even one sporting a rather flamboyant tutu.

See you soon for more travels in my pink tutu!

And don’t forget to spread the word – let’s get everyone wearing a pink tutu! It’s not just about looking fab – it’s about a love of movement, expressing yourself, and spreading a little sparkle wherever you go. Until then, happy dancing, darling!

Lots of love,

Emma xxx
