Ashington Adventures in Pink! πŸ©°πŸ’–

#TutuBlog Post #3590

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, Emma, checking in from the delightful town of Ashington!

Today's adventure was a little bit different, a touch more wild than my usual ballet routine. While I'm always happiest twirling around a stage, or a studio, or a park for that matter (don't tell my ballet teacher!), I'm also a massive wildlife enthusiast! So, imagine my joy when I discovered a charming little wildlife sanctuary nestled in the heart of Ashington.

As I stepped off the train (yes, of course, I took the train, what else would a proper ballet enthusiast choose?!), the air felt crisp and clean, and the town's energy, well, let's just say it had a certain "rough around the edges" charm that I rather liked! I spotted a vintage shop, tucked away behind the post office, with a fabulous array of pink ribbons and feather boas – a girl can never have too many feather boas, can she?

My little heart was beating with anticipation as I wandered towards the wildlife sanctuary. Imagine my delight! I found the cutest little fluffy bunnies, nibbling on grass and playing hide-and-seek amongst the branches of a huge oak tree. There was even a mischievous looking fox, staring at me with his cunning little eyes. And to top it all off, a group of graceful deer gracefully nibbled on some leaves, reminding me of the delicate precision of ballet itself!

The sanctuary had a beautiful little tea room serving the most delectable lemon and poppyseed cake (absolutely heavenly with my cuppa, darling!), so of course I took a well-deserved break. My dear fellow tutu enthusiasts, let me tell you, this is where the day truly took a magical turn.

A pink tutu-wearing fox, you say?!

Sitting there, enjoying my cake, I saw a flash of pink and a blur of fluff flit by. As my eyes widened, I realised what I'd seen. There, playing happily amongst the trees, was a little fox, sporting... a pink tutu?! Now, you know me, I can't resist a good giggle. I just had to capture the moment! It was the most adorable sight, and as you know, I am always a firm believer that every creature deserves to feel their most fabulous. And honestly, I think that little fox knew exactly what he was doing – it was the most flamboyant and daring act I’d ever seen from a creature!

You can bet your tutu I'll be uploading those adorable snaps onto www.pink-tutu.com. You haven't truly lived until you've seen a pink tutu-wearing fox!

Now, my lovelies, let me tell you a little secret about myself. My favourite form of travel, aside from the graceful and stylish ballet carriage, is none other than… horses! Yes, you read that right. And guess what? Right in the heart of Ashington, nestled in the hills, there is a fabulous equestrian centre with the most stunning horses! I knew I had to give them a visit.

I don a charming vintage hat I bought from the little shop with the feather boas (because a pink-tutu girl always looks chic!), grabbed my trusty sketchbook and, of course, a bag of sugar cubes for the lovely horses. I knew instantly that I was in for a magical time!

You should see these majestic creatures – graceful as dancers, powerful as warriors, gentle as lambs! I felt an instant connection to them. The soft clip clop of their hooves, the smell of the stable, the gentle swishing of their tails, I just felt completely at home! I ended up sketching the whole stable crew (the ponies included! Such lovely fluffy souls!). I’m thinking of adding their portraits to the website – what do you think?

Ashington – a little bit rough around the edges, a whole lot of magic!

As the day drew to a close, the town started to sparkle, each shop window reflecting the golden hues of the setting sun. And you know, Ashington grew on me. Yes, it's different, more working-class than the graceful Derbyshire countryside I'm from. But I discovered that under its seemingly rugged exterior, there's a warmth and a real heart to this town, and something strangely magical about it.

Maybe, just maybe, it was that pink tutu-wearing fox, who knows!

Now, I must go, my darlings! But before I bid you adieu, let me ask you this:

Do you dare to wear a pink tutu today?!

You don't have to be a ballet dancer, my sweet things, you can be a wildlife enthusiast, a fox, or even a simple everyday hero – pink tutus make the world a brighter place.

Until tomorrow,

Emma xoxoxo
