Bournville: Where Chocolate and Ballet Twirl Together! (Post #3598)

Hello, my dearest Tutu Tribe! 🩰

It's Emma here, your resident pink-loving tutu enthusiast, coming to you live from the charming town of Bournville! Yes, that's right, the place synonymous with Cadbury's chocolate - a delightful pairing, wouldn't you say? This charming little corner of the West Midlands, just a hop, skip, and a train ride from my Derbyshire home, is more than just sweet treats. It's got a touch of the "whimsical" sprinkled generously on top. And, of course, whimsical calls for tutu! 😉

The journey here was simply divine. A carriage on the Midland Railway, a spot by the window, a cuppa in hand... the perfect way to unwind and start my day. I even had a little chat with a fellow passenger who had a dog, a fluffy Bichon Frise wearing a tiny, oh-so-adorable pink bow! Talk about a lucky start to my day. You know how much I love furry friends - and the thought of bringing them all together for a pink tutu photoshoot is truly thrilling! Maybe a "Doggy Dance Academy"? 🤔

Now, you'll know how much I love a bit of a ballet-themed adventure! Today, I decided to embrace Bournville's heritage and explore the Bournville Village Trust, a little enclave that reminds you of how things were - simpler, greener, with a bit more grace and a dash of community spirit.

As I wandered around, I spotted a little sign that spoke of their Green Heart. Now, let's just pause for a moment and think about this: "green" and "heart"? A perfect metaphor for ballet! Think of the vibrant colours of a ballet dancer's costume against a lush backdrop of a verdant forest – doesn't that just set your imagination aflutter? I'm pretty sure you'd find me dancing among those leafy trees if there wasn't a bustling crowd around!

What really captured my imagination, though, was Cadbury World! How could a lover of all things delightful NOT go there? It was an explosion of sweetness, the scent of chocolate mingling with the aroma of the famous Cadbury World Factory Tour. And the sheer abundance of cocoa! Imagine a "chocolate-infused" tutu... or a dance number with chocolate-themed choreography... the possibilities are endless. I wonder if anyone in history has tried that? It could be the next big ballet thing, you know, just waiting to be discovered!

While indulging in the history of Cadbury's, I couldn't resist indulging in a little bit of myself. You know, a ballerina can't live on just the sweet smell of chocolate. So, I enjoyed a classic Cadbury's Cream Egg... because, really, why not? I know some folks like their chocolate in elegant squares or melt-in-your-mouth truffles, but a Cream Egg - it’s simple yet charming. It reminds you that there's beauty in the unexpected! It’s just like the idea of wearing a tutu at an unexpected moment - whether it’s in the supermarket queue, at a picnic in the park, or even just at home. Life’s too short to be conventional all the time!

And you know what else is lovely? The Bournville Village Trust is a celebration of art, architecture, and craftsmanship - three key ingredients that make up a perfect tutu, don't you think? Just like each stitch and bead in a tutu tells a story, the streets and houses here speak volumes of heritage, of artistry and craftsmanship, a way of life rooted in appreciation for beauty and detail. And what does a true ballerina love? Detail. And a whole lotta pretty!

Walking along the streets, I imagined those quaint, perfectly crafted houses filled with dancers practicing their arabesques, or maybe perfecting a perfect grand jeté... just wait till I get my tutu-obsessed friend, Poppy, down here for a weekend getaway! Imagine a whole ballet in Bournville. It would be absolutely glorious!

But what about wildlife? As you all know, it's not just ballet that makes my heart flutter; wildlife does too! There were squirrels scurrying in the trees, birds chirping sweetly, and even a hedgehog enjoying its stroll along the path! A ballerina's appreciation for grace extends to nature, wouldn't you agree? Even the simplest of animals in the most mundane of habitats demonstrate a natural beauty. A perfect example? The way a bird dips and swoops in flight, gracefully, effortlessly, as if on point shoes. It's magical!

And speaking of graceful, did you know that Bournville holds its very own dance festivals every year? Talk about a magical blend of movement, culture, and joy! I've already got a list of those festivals marked on my calendar, a full set of tutus carefully selected - and, you can bet your bottom dollar, there will be pictures posted to www.pink-tutu.com for your viewing pleasure!

Now, I don’t just believe in getting all of you lovely folks wearing pink tutus, I want to share that feeling of joy! Every now and again, when I am travelling, I try to introduce someone new to ballet. Even just a little peek behind the curtain of this incredible world can be truly enlightening! Maybe it will even inspire someone to find their own "green heart"! And perhaps that little sprinkle of whimsicality will bring more magic into their life, too!

Now, I must bid you all adieu! The sun is setting, and my trusty steed - that’s right, a horse! - awaits me back in Derbyshire. After all, even a tutu-wearing ballerina needs a good gallop now and then. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring!

Until tomorrow, Tutu Tribe!

Emma xx
