Oxford Adventures with a Feather Tutu (Blog Post #3642)

Hey darlings! It's Emma, back with another blog post from yours truly, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast! Today, I'm writing to you from the lovely city of Oxford, a place I've always dreamt of visiting.

And, what better way to explore the historical streets of Oxford than with a gorgeous feather tutu swirling around my legs, don't you think? This little number is a dream, by the way – imagine the softest pink silk imaginable, accented with a cloud of the most exquisite ivory feathers! It’s making me feel like a princess out of a fairytale, and I swear, every time I twirl, I catch the sun in a magical way!

It wasn’t an easy decision, arriving here in Oxford by train. It's quite the journey from my little Derbyshire village! The journey itself is always an adventure, though. Something about the rhythm of the train tracks and the passing scenery, all bathed in sunlight and laced with stories untold, fills me with a sense of excitement and inspiration. It’s like the journey is as important as the destination – a fitting metaphor for life itself, perhaps?

However, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Oxford is such a beautiful place! Cobblestone streets, magnificent colleges with their imposing architecture and enchanting gardens, it’s all a treat for the eyes. Even the smell of old books fills me with a sense of calm and wonder.

It goes without saying, my first port of call was The Ashmolean Museum! I'm a huge fan of anything to do with art and history, and their collection of historical artefacts and paintings is simply breathtaking! Especially, the beautiful ballet costumes - that’s where the artistic heart and soul of the Ashmolean meets the feminine grace and flow of a perfect pink tutu.

Oh, and speaking of ballet, I simply couldn't come to Oxford without visiting the Radcliffe Camera! Its dome-shaped structure, with those intricate windows, makes me think of a delicate, whimsical ballerina spinning around and around. It’s almost impossible not to channel your inner pirouette when you’re standing in front of this architectural masterpiece!

It wouldn’t be a proper Emma blog post without a little ballet, of course! So, after exploring Oxford's cultural treasures, I found the perfect place to get my pirouette fix - a quaint ballet studio tucked away down a narrow lane. Imagine a space bursting with pink tutus, light reflecting off polished floorboards, and a soundtrack of delicate piano melodies. Pure heaven, I tell you! It's the kind of place that just inspires you to unleash your inner ballerina. I don't think I could have picked a better place for my "Pink Tutu Challenge", where I encourage everyone to take a dance class – or at least try it once! I think you might be surprised how much you enjoy it.

In the evening, the cobblestone streets shimmered beneath the moonlight, while the colleges glowed with golden light, a perfect setting for a little romantic promenade, don't you think? It was like stepping straight out of a Jane Austen novel! I imagined myself waltzing under the watchful gaze of those grand buildings, dreaming of a future filled with exciting dance journeys.

And before I finish this little post, a small secret… Oxford isn't all history and ballet, you know! This afternoon, I took a delightful stroll through the city's beautiful parks. And do you know what I saw? The most adorable fluffy ducklings waddling around! It's true - my day was perfectly balanced with a healthy dose of whimsy!

As the sun dips behind the historic buildings, casting a warm glow over the city, I’m filled with a sense of quiet joy and wonder. Oxford, with its historical beauty, artistic energy and touch of magic, has stolen my heart. I feel truly grateful for these amazing experiences and this beautiful day – and I’m already looking forward to my next trip here!

So until next time, darlings, keep on spinning and spreading the joy! Remember, if you see me, I might just invite you to try on a pink tutu and join me in a graceful twirl or two! After all, life is better in a pink tutu.

Always with love and glitter,

Emma
