Crosby Calling! Tutu Travels: Post 3744

Hello my darling tutu-loving friends! 🩰 It's Emma here, writing to you from the beautiful seaside town of Crosby, nestled on the coast of Merseyside. I know what you're thinking - "Crosby, Emma? Is that really worth the trip?". Oh my darlings, let me tell you - this little town is overflowing with charm and surprises!

Today was all about tutus and travelling, my two favourite things, and in style, of course! Forget those ghastly, modern-day, noisy, metal boxes on wheels called "trains" (although there is nothing I love more than a journey on a train), I opted for a much more glamorous and exciting mode of transport... a horse! 🐴 Yes, I did indeed journey through the English countryside, surrounded by rolling green hills and fluffy clouds, perched atop a majestic steed! It's not every day you get to live out your fairytale dreams, but let me tell you, my darlings, riding through those peaceful, golden meadows, the sun kissing my skin and the gentle clip clop of hooves hitting the earth - pure magic!

Now, let's talk about my fabulous fashion choices! This weekend has all been about the colour pink, naturally. It just fits the vibe of this town perfectly. Think pretty pastel pink cottages, pink-hued sunsets over the Irish Sea, and of course, my pink feathered tutu, just begging for a little pirouette in the soft evening breeze! It's the perfect piece for a day of exploring a charming seaside town, isn't it? Just imagine me twirling on the promenade, with the sea air swirling my skirt around me - pure joy! πŸ’•

My Crosby adventure began at the magnificent Antony Gormley's "Another Place" sculpture trail on the beach. Can you believe, my lovelies, that 100 life-size cast iron figures stand tall on Crosby Beach, like a surreal ballet company ready to take on the sea! It's truly captivating and I was entranced. The figures, scattered along the shore, were a bit like dancers in a tableau, and even though they were completely still, the way they stood against the wind and the sea made me imagine they were holding a beautiful, silent pose. It made me want to dance right there and then - after all, everything is a stage!

We strolled along the sandy beach, feeling the salty spray of the ocean mist on our faces and the sun warming our cheeks, until we came upon a cute little cafe right on the waterfront. We couldn't resist sitting on the patio and enjoying a slice of freshly-baked strawberry and cream cake, while watching the tide roll in. I felt so blissfully relaxed and happy - everything just felt right in that moment.

Crosby is a place where the art and nature intertwine in a truly magical way. Every corner, every turn holds a new discovery waiting to be revealed - a colourful shop filled with quirky seaside souvenirs, a cosy pub with a roaring fireplace and local ales, or a quiet, cobblestone street leading to a stunning Victorian church.

As evening descended and the sky turned into a canvas of glorious oranges, reds, and pinks (oh my!), I felt the urge to twirl. So, with my beautiful pink feather tutu fluttering around me, I took to the promenade, allowing the sea breeze to carry me away in a series of pirouettes and graceful leaps. The setting sun made everything feel like a scene from a ballet - the glimmering sea, the beach bathed in a soft glow, and the gentle music of the waves crashing against the shore - it was like the entire town was whispering, "Let yourself be a ballerina, Emma!" 🩰

The highlight of the day, though, was visiting the famous Crosby Hall - an original medieval house that transported me straight back to the era of fairytales. The hall itself was like something out of a dream, with its wooden beams, stone walls, and crackling fireplaces. It was easy to imagine myself dancing in a medieval ball in that grand room - perhaps with a handsome knight by my side, although, alas, I was flying solo this time.

But you know me, I'm not afraid to dance solo! It’s empowering to express yourself in your own way. Besides, my beautiful feather tutu is the perfect partner for an afternoon of historical exploration and dance - especially with those dramatic, flowy feathers, just waiting for a gentle breeze!

Crosby, with its blend of seaside charm, artistic beauty, and historical allure, captured my heart in a way I never expected. It reminded me that there is magic to be found in the most unexpected places, and that embracing the beauty of our surroundings can be a source of immense joy. As I sit here, reflecting on my adventures, I feel a sense of contentment - the perfect ending to a day filled with tutus, travels, and a sprinkle of pink magic.

So, darlings, go forth and embrace the beautiful chaos of life! Be a ballerina wherever you go, even if it's just twirling around your kitchen!

Until next time, keep your tutu dreams alive! πŸ’•

Much love,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
